Quick Wedding Card

I went to go put all my new "toys" from convention in my stamp room tonight, and remembered I had to make a wedding card for next weekend. So, I thought I would share what I whipped up.I used cream colored CS as the base. I stamped the hearts from a SU set as the background. I then stamped the little wedding cakes and hearts onto red CS (these are also from a SU set...both are from the same set). I then punched the images out with a square punch. I attached them to the base in a "window" pattern, and added some glitter to the hearts. The buttons are from my mother's old button bin. I added some ribbon to them, and glued them on. That is pretty much it. Probably the simplest card I made in awhile, but still pretty. Thanks for stopping by!

Stamp Convention Weekend!!!

Who doesn't love a stamp convention?????!!!! Well the Stamp scrap art Tour made a stop in Buffalo this weekend. I saved all my pennies and dimes, and off I went! The fun started on Friday night with the make-and-take dessert party....yes stamping and dessert...fantastic combo! My mom and I both went and had a blast. There was 8 different stations/projects to do throughout the night plus...DESSERT!!!!! The people that ran it did an amazing job. Everyone got a chance to do each project, as they had us rotate tables all at once. You stayed with the same "table" of people the whole night, and rotated every so many minutes. After the first 4 rotations we were treated to a LOOOOONG table of yummies. Everyone had a plateful for sure. There were about 50 women there participating in the event. I wanted to share some photos of the make-and-takes we did. They were put on by the different vendors from the show. I took a photo of all 8 projects together, and them some close-ups. I put business cards with the projects if I had them, so I could give credit for the design and the stamps.

These two I didn't have cards for, but the bloomer one was from Stamps N' More, and the snowman card from Art Gone Wild.

The little card with the pink squares are from Luni Stamps, and the ADORABLE little notebook is from Inky Antics.
This is actually an album. You can put photos of you pet on the empty spaces...I just didn't get that far yet. =)
Saturday morning, bright and early, I was off for a day of shopping at the show. Well...needless to say I spent all the pennies and dimes I collected...haha, and saw lots more I really wanted. There was make-and-takes at most of the booths during the show, but since I had 2 of my girls with me, I wasn't able to spend the time waiting for a turn. Two year olds don't like waiting! I was able to do one project while my mom sat with the girls for their snack, but that was it. It was still a great time. Check out their website, as they still have a couple more tour stops this fall, to see if they are coming to your area. They pretty much make the same stops each year too, so maybe you just missed it and will be able to catch it next year. Of course I HIGHLY recommend doing the Friday Make-and-Take Dessert Party too if they come to your area. Thanks so much for stopping by...now I must prepare for my next Angel Company Party on Tuesday!

Take a bit of this! CCC54 & CBC72

Hello! Happy Tuesday! I finally had a chance to stamp...of course I was kinda in creativity freeze for a bit there. Then today I walked down to change laundry, looked in the stamp room, and had an idea! Just like that...ha ha. Anyway I wanted to participate in both the Cupcake Craft Challenge and the Creative Belli Blog this week, so here is what I came up with.

Doesn't she look sweet! This week the Cupcake Craft Challenge was to create a shaped card...anything but a square. So I saw this image and had to use it. I thought it would be cute to layer her onto a watermelon shape. What a fun image this is for summer. This image is from High Hopes Rubber Stamps. I also used this card for this weeks Creative Belli Challenge...which was to use water based markers to color your image. So I used my markers (strokes markers) to color her in. I also added some diamond stickles to her bows and "lace" of the dress. I cut the image out and layered it onto the pinkish CS, which I added the green CS strip to and drew on the seeds with black marker.

Well, that is about it for tonight. I am off to go work on my Christmas cards...well get them started at least. I know it seems early, but I have to get working on them or I will never get them done in time. Thanks for stopping by!

SHOWER'S DONE!!!

Today was the baby shower that I have been planning for the last few months. It was a great time! Everything went so well. The turn out was great, and my SIL got some great gifts for the new baby boy coming in November. It is also a relief to know that it is over. So much goes into this kind of stuff. My mom and I spent the last 2 days doing food prep, and getting her house ready. We kept the decorating very simple...pretty much no decorations. =) My other SIL brought some fresh cut flowers that we put in vases, and that was pretty much our decorations. The prizes went over well. Everyone seems to enjoy the homemade prizes. We also made the favors. I just wanted to post a couple photos of them, since I forgot to take pictures when we finished them, and sent them home with my mom.

We used various PP I picked up at my LCS, and there were 4 different styles of paper. For the base of the box I used some very heavy card stock that I have had for a VERY long time (like 12 years...sad I know). We used the little safety pin stamp from a SU set that I had on the inside of the boxes. The template for these can be found on SCS HERE. These were the 4 count boxes (long).

Well that is all for today. Hopefully I can get some "fun" stampin' time for myself this week. Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great rest of your Sunday.

Cupcake's B-day and a Sweet Stop Fall - SSS17, CCC53

Hello from steamy, muggy, hot Buffalo, NY! I suppose it is much worse in other parts of the US, but personally I can't take the heat anymore. So...I convinced my hubby to let me turn on the AC yesterday and today...THANK GOD! So now my house is comfy. I also like to escape to my nice little cool stamp room on the basement when it is too hot out. So today I emerged from the basement with 3 completed projects, and a few more in process. I am going to share 2 of them with you tonight.

My first project tonight I created for the Cupcake Craft Challenge. They are celebrating their 1st blogging birthday this week. So...HAPPY BIRTHDAY! The challenge this week is "Something Sweet". Here is what I came up with.
I have two really cute TAC sets that include cupcakes, and decided that would be perfect for this challenge. I found this adorable cupcake ribbon @ my LCS. I also purchased it in blue. I can't pass by a bin full of ribbon that is labeled $1 a spool! Anyway, The small cupcakes are from a PWP stamp set called All Smiles. The set is only $2.95 with any $30 purchase. It includes a little ice cream cone, and two different smiley faces too. The larger cupcake is from one of the SOTM sets from 4/09 (Sweet thing). I colored the cupcakes using souffle gel pens, and added some different color stickles on the sprinkles. I used a large circle punch to cut out the PP circle from the TAC DC Gentle Beginnings pad. All the cupcakes are attached with dimensionals.
My next card tonight I created for The Sweet Stop Challenge Blog this week. Check out the link to see the sketch for this week. I just loved this sketch. Korin always comes up with some great sketches. There was a twist this week though, the card had to be a fall or back to school theme. I have an adorable apple stamp I wanted to use, but it was too big for what I wanted to do with this sketch, so here is what I came up with instead.

I used the TAC set Artsy Owls. I stamped the owls and tree branch on DSP from the TAC Winchester paper collection. I do love these collections in the catalog they are all put together with matching ribbons, brads, buttons, papers, ink suggestions, etc. After stamping the owls and branches, I punched them out with a scalloped circle punch, and layered them onto solid color CS from the TAC Penelope CS set. I added some little googly eyes to the owl, gold stickles to the leaves and owl, and used a white gel pen to bring out the stitched look on the owl. I used Kraft CS as the base, and layered a piece of brown CS that I stamped a few of the branches from the stamp set onto for background paper. I layered again with another sheet of Kraft CS, and added the owls and branches. The sentiment is from the TAC set Trendy Greetings, and I punched it out with an oval punch. I also added the gold eyelets to that.

Well that is it for today. We began a new venture in our house today. My 2 year old has decided that she wants to use the potty. Day 1 went pretty well. Only a couple accidents, and many more successes! I just hope we can get through this, and help her get over her fear of toilets that aren't at home. She wouldn't go at Target today (which was one of the accidents), and she wouldn't go on the potty at the fitness place we go to (which is VERY clean). All in good time...I just have to keep telling myself that. Thanks for stopping by.

Baby Card

I spent most of my night last night finishing the favors for my SIL's shower next weekend. My mom and I made nugget boxes. I of course forgot to take a picture before I sent them home with my mom. We used some cute different "boy" printed papers and used light blue CS to wrap each nugget. Then we added a little safety pin stamp to each one. They are the 4 count nugget boxes. They turned out really cute! While my mom was busy wrapping nuggets, I started a card for our gift. Here is what I came up with.

The image I used is from High Hopes, it is called Open Ark. I colored it with watercolor crayons first. Then I added some brown fun flock to the lion's mane, liquid pearl (pewter) for nails on the ark, baby blue stickles on the water, and peeled paint distressed stickles on the olive branch. I cut the image out and layered onto a trimmed piece of white CS with dimensionals. I used a piece of animal printed paper from the DCWV Nana's Nursery baby boy PP. I layered that onto Bashful Blue CS, and layered it all onto the white CS base. The "Baby" down the side, I used TAC Kinder-Bet (which is discontinued, but there are a few very similar alphabets in the new catty). I added the little hand brads that I picked up at Micheal's. They hands look funny if you don't use them in pairs, so that is why I put 2 on there. =)

Well that is it for today. We are off to our property for the night tonight. I am excited because my mom is coming for the first time today! She is even spending the night! We are supposed to go berry picking down there too. Looking forward to a fun weekend, and hoping to see some shooting stars!

Sailing together...Mojo98

I made this card for the Mojo Monday Blog this week. It is contest week, as it always is the first week of the month. So...here is the sketch...

And here is what I came up with...I used a The Angel Company hostess set for my card today. This set is called Oceans of Love, it is a Level A hostess set. I thought is was adorable, so I had to have it. Right now TAC is running an AWESOME deal for hostesses. It is double rewards from now until September 30th! There are all sorts of extra bonuses for hostesses right now. Not only do you get double the credit, double and 1/2 off items, but you also can earn exclusive stamp sets and some of the TAC album kits. It is a fantastic time to book a TAC funshop. If you live in the Buffalo, NY area and are interested in hosting a funshop please feel free to contact me via the comment section. Leave your e-mail or contact info, and I will get back to you.

ANYWAY...sorry had to throw a little sales plug in there...I stamped the image in black and colored it in with watercolor crayons. I cut the image out in a circle shape. I then used the More Mimi SWIC PP from TAC to add the pink square layer, and the opposite side of the paper is the printed paper that you see under the pink square. I also distressed the pink layer square. I added the green ribbon to the side. I of course can't make a card without some bling, so I added some stickles to the hat and the water. I also used some liquid pearl on the boat (pewter color), and some to the girl's hat and sleeve.

Well, that is all for today. Thanks so much for stopping by!

What's Whooo...and a wooden challenge CBC71, BSS4

I was able to squeeze a couple projects in tonight. We took our girls to the local amusement park tonight. We have season passes, so we go like once a week, but tonight was the first time we hit the water park this summer. Everything was going great until my 6 year old went on the big water slide. My DH took the older two on the "big kid" stuff while I had the little one in the wading pool. Well, I guess there are two "big slides", and the nice lady at the top didn't tell us they were really different, and one was more intense than the other. So my poor 6 year old did her first time on this thing, the mat slipped out from under her, then when she got to the bottom, she went under. My kids really don't know how to swim (very sad I know), so she struggled for a minute. The lifeguard was right there of course, and swept her up. She was traumatized though, and that was the end of the fun. Of course it seemed like forever to her being under the water. Scary I am sure for her. Well, anyway, we got home and I was able to get a couple projects in before bed time for me. So here they are.
This first project I created for the Creative Belli Challenge this week (CBC71). The challenge was to create something using wood. Since I took my girls to craft time at my LCS today, I picked up these really cute garden stakes. I happen to purchase a really cute Ladybug stamp set while at CHA last week from Papertrey Ink. I stamped the base in red, and overlay in black. I added some little flowers to the stake part in a darker shade of purple. I kinda thought I would use it as a bookmark, but I guess it could be a garden stake.

Next I made a card for the Buffalo Stamps and Stuff blog. This is my LSS, and this is only the 4th
week of challenges. I do love to play along though. The challenge this week was to find something that inspires you and make a card using that inspiration. So I saw this ad while flipping through a magazine at my mom's house last night. It is a little hard to see, but it is a paint ad. I loved the different color combos on it. There are actually 4 color combos on here, and I do plan on using the other ones another day. This is the one I used today.

As you can see the colors are an orangish color, brown, and "pebble white". So here is the card I came up with...I used the orangish color for the base. I traced an owl shape onto it along the "seam". He actually has a seam along his left wing. I then stamped an owl onto a brown oval from the TAC set Artsy Owls. I added some white color to him using a white gel pen, and some liquid pearl for his beak. I also added some googly eyes for dimension. I layered some PP under him that I got from Papertrey Ink (chocolate remix is the set name). For the "big" owl I used some felt leaves stickers for eyes and added googly eyes. The beak is drawn on with liquid pearl. I also added some stitched look to the large owl by using the while gel pen around the edges. On the inside I wrote, "What's Whooo?".

Last thing to share tonight is just another shower prize I made for the baby shower that is fast approaching.

I used a 4x6 magnetic acrylic frame, used TAC DP...Miss Moxie. I found the calendar template on SCS HERE. I started with Sept. 09- Dec. 2010. I added a small post-it notes, and made a matching RSVP pen.

Wow...that is a lot tonight. Thanks so much for stopping by.

A little dino fun SSS 15

Today I have a card to share with you that I created for the Sweet Stop Challenge Blog this week. I love the sketches Korin puts on this blog. They are a lot of fun. Well here is what I came up with. This honestly wasn't my favorite card ever, but since I took the time to make it, I figured I would share. I just had to have this stamp set from Sweet and Sassy (Dino-mite). My 2 year old little girl LOVES dinosaurs. I also really wanted to use this designer paper as well. Well, I just didn't' like the way the paper was covered so much. I think we are all our own worst critic though. Anyway, I stamped the dino, and colored him in using watercolor crayons. I added some liquid pearl to his toes for some dimension, and shine. I layered him onto a kraft CS rectangle (which I trimmed the corners on). The DSP is from basic grey archaic set. I cut it out using the scalloped oval frame sizzix die. I also cut a brown one out to frame the dino paper. The ribbon I purchased @ a local craft store. The sentiment is also from the Dino-mite set.
The other thing I wanted to share with you is soooo cute. While I was away in Florida, my 6 year old made a book about me. Since it is called "Mom's Stamps are Cool", I decided to share it. I just thought it was the sweetest thing. It made me feel special, and to know that your kids think you are the greatest kinda makes a mom feel good. Even after all those times that we have to yell and discipline. So here it is.

That is all for today. Thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed the little book created by my 6 year old.

CHA Super Show

Well I have just returned from a wonderful trip to Sunny...and HOT...Florida (did I mention it was HOT and very HUMID?). Anyway, I had the privilgage of going to the CHA (Craft and Hobby Association) Supershow, and it was AWESOME!!!!! It was so worth the trip to FL. This is the first year they have ever done the supershow. All of those in attendence are begging they do it again. Hopefully more vendors will stay on from the tradeshow for the supershow next year. There was lots of make and takes, freebies, classes to take, new products to see, booths to shop in, and FUN! I was able to take 2 class while there, as well as participate in 2 different focus groups. They also offered a great kids area. Now, I left my children home this year (with their dad...since it was a mom/daughter trip with my mom), but would totally take them next time. They had lots of crafts for kids, a bounce house, and more. I personally loved that they included the kids. My old "unenjoyable" part of my trip was the walk from the hotel to the Orange County Convention center....=). My mom and I didn't rent a car, since we thought the hotel was NEXT to the convention center. We were wrong...lol. It was only a mile or so, which isn't bad, except is was a mile walk in the Florida sun, heat, and humidity. So that part wasn't so pleasant...ha ha. Other than that...I loved it. I have a huge pile of new "toys" to play with, and can't wait to get to work on them. I purchased some cool new stamp sets, papers, taperunner/tape gun thingy, and more. So...hopefully I will be able to get my house back in order after being gone for 4 days, and be able to get some stamping done this week. So check back in soon!
Jessica
PS...you really really really need to try to make it to the supershow next year! I can't wait to go!
