So Thrown off...

So I just realized today is Thursday, and I always post QKR Stampede on Thursday. Well, with the craziness of the holiday season, school break play dates, and various other activities, I haven't gotten much time to craft. I tried to start a card today, but I didn't get too far. My DD has a friend over, so I am constantly checking on them. So I decided to follow the "trend" in the blogging world this week, and post a couple of my favorite QKR Stampede Projects from this past year.

OK...so one of my favorites is of course...this tissue box cover.

LOVED the altered Fall Frame.

This back to school card was fun.

There was the little set of cards I made for my DD to mail home from camp.

Oh and this page from my Nephew's 1st birthday gift.

This adorable turtle card too.

So there you have it...just a small glimpse into 2010 with QKR Stampede. I am really looking forward to some more QKR Stampede fun in 2011! Thanks for stopping by today.

Happy New Year Cocoa!

Wow...can you believe it is almost 2011! Remember 11 years ago when the world was panicking about the Y2K bug? LOL There was a whole mess of concern with that. Well here we are 11 years later, and our computers still work...lol. Well today we have a new challenge for you at the Crazy 4 Cocoa Blog. Our challenge this week is "Celebrate"! I decided to go with celebrating the new year. Since I spent the entire month of December celebrating birthdays...lol. The best part is January only brings 4 more birthdays in my family. Well here is my "Celebrate" creation. I started by printing out the Chef Cocoa Digi. I colored Cocoa with markers, and used a teal marker around the trim of the hat. I added the 2011 to the hat before I printed the image. Now that was a bit tricky, but thankfully I have a techie hubby who helped me...lol. I also made the sentiment in a word document and printed that out. I used the teal marker around the edge of that too. I then fussy cut the image and oval sentiment, and layered them onto the PP. So I have to explain why I picked this color. I recently read an article on Yahoo that said Honeysuckle is the color of 2011, so I decided to use it. Teal was 2010 in case you didn't' know...lol. The PP is some I had in my stash. I layered that onto the Coredinations "honeysuckle" like color, and sanded the edges. Last I added the little teal pearls. I also made Cocoa's tail stick up from the card. My DH thought that was really cool...lol. Well it is your turn now. Show us your Celebrating Cocoa creation! Be sure to stop by the Crazy 4 Cocoa Blog and see what the DT has created for inspiration, and then link your creation up for us to see.
OH and HAPPY 2011!!!!!

Thanks a Bunch

Another post today...wow 3 in one day! I guess Christmas school break has it's perks...lol. Here is a couple Thank you cards I made today. I have a friend whose DD loves monkeys, so i made these to give to her to use. I used some Monkey PP on this one, and the brown PP on the top is the reverse side of the monkeys. The ribbon is some "left overs" from another project. The images are all from SU. I used the Mojo Monday sketch for this one. This is one I started over the summer, and well the pieces have been sitting on my table for ever. So I decided to put it together today. I used my Cricut to cut the branches. The images are from SU.

Challenges:
Mojo Monday - sketch (first card)
Cupcake Craft Challenge - Thank You Card

Get Well Soon

So colds are spreading in our house like wildfire. I just took my 3 year old to the doctor yesterday, she hasn't been sleeping because she is hacking. She is super stuffy too. Well, it is just a cold, that apparently she has decided to share with her dad and I...lol. So, I thought it would be fun to make a get well card today...in the spirit of things...lol.I started with this adorable Get Well Cocoa digi image. I colored with water color crayons, and added some crystal effects to the bottle. I layered it onto some orange PP, and then onto pink PP. The PP is from Imaginisce. I added some ribbon and a flower. I stamped the sentiment (a TAC image) and trimmed it. I also added some i-Rock rhinestuds to the bottom corner. You will also see some sewing on this card. I pulled out the sewing machine and did some zigzag stitching around the image.

This card is for the following challenges:
7 Kids College Fund - anything goes
Simon Says Challenge - anything goes
Sweet Stop Sketch - sketch with a twist...stitching

DANCE

Hi there. It is QKR Stampede Thursday here on my blog. Today I wanted to share something NON-Christmas with you. I figured we have seen lots of Christmas lately, so I went with a whole different idea. I wanted to use this gorgeous Ballet Shoes image today. I have 3 little girls, so there is a lot of pink, and dancing that goes on in my house. My middle DD takes ballet lessons, so I thought this image was just perfect for her. Here is what I came up with this time. I started by stamping the Ballet Shoes image on white CS, and coloring with water color crayons. I added some Smootch Pearl to the ribbons on the shoes and around them. Then I fussy cut them out...which was not easy with 2 little girls hanging over me saying "Don't break them mom" or "Be careful mom". I used a white CS base, and layered the PP from Imaginisce onto it. I just picked up this PP the other day at my LSS. I just loved it...super girly! I layered the ballet shoes onto that, and then added some pink letter stickers for the word dance. I added some pink stickles to the letters for sparkle. The heart border along the bottom is one of the things I got from my 12 Days of Christmas Crop a couple weeks ago. Now the ribbon! Oh I just love this ribbon! I was checking out the blogs for the Creative Belli Challenge the other day and saw one of the entries used this ribbon "trick". I just had to try it right away. It reminded me of laced up Ballet Shoes. I used a punch for the edge of the CS. Then I laced the ribbon through and tied a knot at the top. I just love the way this looks. So...you will be seeing it again...lol. It is super easy, and looks so neat!
Well that is all for now. Thanks for stopping by!

Teacher Christmas Gifts

Hi there. Only a couple more days!!!! I don't know about you, but I am totally not ready...lol. Yesterday was my oldest DD's 8th birthday, so I had to get through that before I could go on more. We had a party for her this past Sunday, and then family over last night, oh and the cupcakes for school of course. NOW I am ready to function for the next event. As of this moment, I am no where near done wrapping, or planning my meals for Christmas. BUT like most things it will all fall into place. Well today at the Creative Belli Challenge, we wanted to spread some Christmas Cheer. Don't worry we won't sing...well at least not for you to hear...lol. Stop on by and see what the DT ladies came up with the spread Christmas Cheer. Here is what I am sharing today. These are the teacher gifts my girls are giving to their classroom teachers. I filled these containers with Cinnamon Pecans I made with my girls a couple weekends ago. I started with these Crystal Light containers. I ran them through the dishwasher, and let them dry completely. Then I took some ribbon and wrapped it around the container. The ribbon is from Imaginisce. Next I stamped the tree images, which is from CTMH. I colored them and added some stickles and liquid pearl (haven't pulled that out in a while). I trimmed them down, and layered them onto the PP (which is from Imaginisce). For the tags, I used my Cricut to cut the tag on green CS. Then I ran through the PP to make a trim around the green PP. Last, I added the little bows...which are store bought...lol.
Well, that is it for now. I hope Santa brings you lots of papercrafting goodies!
Be sure to stop by the Creative BElli Challenge and share some of your Christmas creations with us.

Snowballs For Sale!

HI there. TGIF! Although I have a crazy busy weekend in store AGAIN! I am hoping to get some craft time in, but well frankly it isn't looking good...lol. So I took some time to craft last night. Here is one of the cards I made. I started by stamping the snow globe image from Repeat Impressions. I then used a gold colored pencil and some Gamsol to color the base of the globe. The penguin and the snowflakes are stickers I had in my stash. I layered that onto some light blue CS. I then used some snowflake PP I got at my crop last weekend for the one side, and I used the light blue CS again for the other side. I ran that through the cuttlebug. Last, I added the embellishments. Check this out.Guess what it is? It is earring! LOL. I have a neighbor who is this super nice 90 year old women. She is always giving me stuff she gets in the mail. She sends donations to various organizations, and they send her "treasures" in return. She always saves them and gives them to me and my girls. Well the other day she gave me these earrings. Now, I can't tell her no, so I took them. First, I don't do silver, 2nd, they are so not my style, 3rd...they will probably turn my ears green in 2 seconds. SO...I decided to use them on a card. I used wire cutters to cut the back pegs off, and then attached them to the corners of my card. I actually love the way they look on this card. Glad I was able to find a use for them!

Well have a fabulous weekend!

I am using this card for the following challenges:

Simon Says Challenge - Silver/Blue and White

What if Wednesday Sketch - Repeat Impressions

Cupcake Craft - Non- traditional Christmas

7 Kids College Fund Challenge - Winter Wonderland (all the snowflakes)

Hi there, and welcome to my blog. I hope you are enjoying the QKR Stampede Winter Fun Blog hop so far. Aren't these ladies so talented???!!! Well if you have just arrived here from Monika's Blog, then you are on the right track. Wasn't her project great!!! If you just started here on my blog, then head on back to the QKR Stampede Blog and start the hop from the beginning. You really don't want to miss any of this!
So now that we have that taken care of...onto my creation. Our theme this hop is Winter Fun or Winter Sports. There are so many fun images in the QKR Stampede Store that fall into this category. If you haven't checked them out yet, be sure to do that. I decided to use this Ice Skating Penguin image for my card today. I started with a white CS base, and layered the PP from Imaginisce onto that. I thought the skate paper was perfect with this image. Next I layered the striped ribbon onto that. I stamped the image onto white CS, and colored with colored pencils. I added some black stickles to his skates, to go with the PP's black blades. The sentiment is actually a sticker that I cut up and layered onto the ovals. Last I added the little crocheted flower. This flower was actually made by my Mommy! She made a whole bunch of them for me to take to a crop last weekend. I just love them, and can't wait for her to make me more. I added a little blue button to that.

Well that is all from me today. Now hop along to

KRISTINE'S BLOG

and see what she has in store for you!

If at any point during the hop you get "lost", just head on back to the QKR Stampede Blog for a complete hop order list. Thanks!!!

This Card is for the following Challenge:

The Sweet Stop Sketch 86

The Fuzzy Wuzzy Challenge - Christmas Something or Otter.

Let's Ink It Up - Christmas with Sparkle (the skates are sparkly, and the paper)

Gift Card Holder

Hi there. Hope you are having a wonderful week. We are having a snowy good week...lol. I must say the snow does not make for a fun drive to drop the kids off in the morning though. It takes a little longer to get there, and you have to deal with those people that think they are invincible because they have 4x4 on their SUVs. I see more slipping and sliding from trucks and SUVs then any cars. Well enough about my winter driving frustration...lol...and onto the QKR Stampede project I have for you today. I needed a gift card holder for my SIL's Fiance's gift, so I decided to create one using a Merry Christmas image from QKR STampede. I got this idea from a stamping club I went to at my church a few months ago. Here is the front...
And the inside...And the front again in an "open" position... Really this is a very simple project to make. You simply cut and score the CS, then embellish. The inside is just an envelope sealed and cut in 1/2. You adhere it to the "inside" of the folds, and TADA! a gift card holder! I used some PP from Imaginisce for the background and the PP on the top "tab". I stamped the Merry Christmas image on white CS with green ink. I colored in the holly leaf and added some smooth pearl to it. I layered that onto the red PP. As you can see from the first photo, you use the centered rectangle to hold the flap down. You can see in the last photo a little piece of white CS sticking out. I added that into one of the 2 "holders"/half of envelopes to write a "To" & "From". Well that is it...simple as that.

Now...please join us tomorrow for our DT December Blog Hop! We will be featuring projects that incorporated winter sports. You will want to start at the QKR Stampede Blog so you don't miss any of our wonderful talented ladies!

My latest Endevour

I wanted to share with you what I have been working on the past few days. I picked up this card kit from the CKC Convention back in May. It is called "the ultimate scrapbook and card kit" from Lisa and Becky. The kit includes everything you need to make 20 different cards...well except the glue and staples. Well I decided now was a better time then never to whip these cards off. So I got to work, and after a few days (because you know life happens too...lol), I finally finished. Ok...so you will only count 19 in this photo, but I had to use a set of the cards already. They were so easy to do, and turned out great! The kit comes with the complete instructions and all the pieces pre-cut for you. It is just taking the time to put it all together. Each card "set" makes at least 2, but a few make 3. I am going to use 1 or 2 of each card in a basket for my DDs' school fundraiser auction. I am hoping to put together a basket full of homemade cards and mini albums. I have until February, so I guess I have a small start. Here is a few close ups of the cards. Again, none of these are my designs, but I still wanted to share my finished products.

Crazy 4 Cocoa - Anything But a Card

Hi there! I am so enjoying this great new Crazy 4 Cocoa Challenge Blog. Cocoa is such a fun mouse to create with. This week our challenge for you is Anything BUT a card. We want to see what you can do with Cocoa that is NOT a card. I decided to "fix" a coffee cup. My mom needed a gift for an exchange at work. She had to have something valued at around $10, so I said I would help her. She brought me this...
And I gave her back this...I just love "fixing" things! =) I started by wrapping the PP around the cup. I took the wrap that was on it off, and used that as a template to cut the snowflake paper from Imaginisce. I also used the same paper on Cocoa's cup. This Cocoa image is called Cocoa's Latte, and is available in digi form. After paper piecing the cup wrap, I colored the lid and Cocoa with colored pencils. I punched a ribbon hole on each side, and tread a ribbon through. I wrapped the ribbon around the cup and tied it in the back. Last, I had to fill the cup with the gift. My mom brought me over some mint Hershey Kisses, 6 Starbucks Via packets, and a Tim Hortons gift card. I filled the cup with the kisses. Then I stuck the cup lid in the top of the cup and attached the gift card to that. Last, I stuck the little Via packets into the cup. I hope however gets this gift likes it. I know the kisses tasted good...=)!!!!
Now head on over to the Crazy 4 Cocoa Challenge Blog and see what the rest of the Cocoa Crazies have created for you. Then play along with us! Link your NON-card Cocoa creation to Mr. Linky at the bottom of today's challenge!

12 Days of Christmas Crop

Today I am very excited to be going to a crop. My Happy Place...a local scrapbooking studio/place to go and craft...is have a 12 Days of Christmas Crop tonight. Each of the 12 people attending were assigned a number. You then have to find that many items to bring with you. So...I am #6...so I have to bring 6 things for each of the 12 ladies attending. It can be anything scrappy or crafty. So I recruited my mom to help me, and came up with these. I can't crochet, but my mommy can! So I asked her to crochet me 72 little flowers. She is just the best mommy ever and did this for me! They are absolutely gorgeous! She even made different colors. I was going to try to dye some of mine with re-inkers. I saw something like these in the SU catalog, but they are like $10.00 of 12. So...having my mom make them was much better price for me...lol. And I think they are more special because my mom made them. I am hoping to get her to make some more for some blog candy in the future. I wanted to bag these up nice for each of the ladies, so here is what I did.
Nothing super fancy, but still festive. I used my Cricut to cut the "6"s out, and hand wrote the rest. The back of the topper said "6 crocheted flowers". I can't wait to see what the other ladies come up with. I am sure I will be coming home with some really awesome new "toys"!

A couple more December cards

I just wanted to share a couple more of my December family cards. Today I have a birthday card, and an anniversary card.
Here is the anniversary card.I used the brand new "surprise" release Cocoa and Cookie digi image from Sweet 'n Sassy. I colored with colored pencils and Gamsol. I also added some smooth pearl to the key and keyhole. I layered onto some valentine PP. The sentiment is from QKR Stampede. For the bottom, I used a SU boarder punch, and layered some pink CS under the white.
My 2nd card is a faux tile card I made for my SIL's birthday. I scored the paper, and stamped the random flower images from SU. Then I used versamark ink, and embossed with clear embossing powder. It looks much cooler in person...lol. The sentiment is made using some little tiny alphabet stamps I have. I purchased them from the Target $1 spot a few years ago. The layers of CS are the same color inks.

Well that is all for now! Have a great day!

Creative Belli Challenge - Anything Christmas

Hi there. I hope you are having a wonderful week so far. If your life is anything like ours right now...the holiday season is in full swing. There are parties to go to, gifts to be bought and made, wrapping, cards to be mailed, Christmas plays to attend...and so on... I will say as crazy as it is, I do love the holiday season. I love the excitement of the children, the decorations, the family time, and most of all the preparation for our Savior's birth! This past Sunday we put up our Christmas tree, and of course added the Nativity Scene...it is so fun to talk to my girls about the birth of Jesus, and for them to see the manager scene. Well, I hope you are enjoying this time as much as we do in our house.
Today our challenge for you at the Creative Belli Challenge is to create something using Christmas Embellishments. You can use Christmas papers, ribbons, brads, snowflakes, charms...etc...just grab something from your stash, and play along with us! Here is what I came up with for this challenge. A few months ago I saw THIS tutorial on a Splitcoast e-mail. I HAD to try it...so a few months later I finally did...lol. This tissue box cover is so simple, and very fun way to decorate for the holiday or season. I used kraft CS for mine. I embossed the sides with a snowflake folder, and used white chalk ink to bring out the snowflakes so more. Then I added some cream colored lace around the top trim of the box. On the sides I made some lace bows. For the front, I used this adorable Snowman Scene from QKR Stampede. I stamped the image onto the kraft CS, and embossed with white embossing powder. Then I colored with colored pencils and Gamsol. Last, I added some clay snowflakes. These snowflakes are from an Oriental Trading set I bought a couple years ago. I had purchased a whole box of kids craft supplies, and these were in there. They are actually "charms", but I pulled the little metal hanging piece out.

Now head on over to the Creative Belli Challenge Blog, and see what the other talented DT ladies have created for you. Then be sure to play along with us by linking up your creation to the Belli Post 106! Thanks for stopping by!

QKR Thursday on Monday

Hi there. Yes I know it is Monday, and my normal QKR Stampede post day is Thursday, but I whipped this card up today, and couldn't wait...lol. That, and I made this using the sketch from this week's Simon Says Challenge...which ends Tuesday night. SO I needed to get it up. As you very well know by now...I am in mega birthday card production mode. Well I made another one today...this one winter themed...perfect for a December birthday! I started by picking out the snowflake paper(My Minds Eye). The orange polka dots is actually the back of that. I stamped this Ice Skating Penguin on white CS, and colored him with markers to go with the PP. This guy is just one of the many adorable penguin images from QKR Stampede...you can find more HERE. I layered him onto the PP and card base, and added the snowflakes. I hand wrote the sentiment "Skating by...", and the inside says "to wish you a happy birthday".
That is all for tonight. Stop back tomorrow for a brand new Crazy 4 Cocoa Challenge!

Dreaming of my younger days...

HI there! Hope you are having a wonderful week. Well, as promised, I have another birthday card for you today...lol. Oh the joy of December birthdays...lol. Like I mentioned the other day we have 5 just on my side, plus my Goddaughter, and an anniversary. So...it is birthday card making palooza here. Today's card features one of the awesome QKR Stampede turtle stamps. Sorry about the lighting...I guess I need to find a new "winter" photo spot...lol. So my thought with this is the TURTLE is got a dreamy look...looking up at the age "36" and dreaming of his younger years. Of course he could also be thinking how content he is with his new age...lol...just depends on how you want to look at it. I stamped the TURTLE on white CS, and again on green CS. I then paper pieced his shell onto him, and colored with colored pencils and Gamsol. I added some Smooch pearls to his eyes for shine. I added the bingo numbers for the age, and a corduroy brad.

This card is for the following challenge:
Mojo Monday Sketch 167

Thanks for stopping by! Have a fabulous day!

Another birthday card

Ok...another birthday card...and don't worry I will have another tomorrow...lol. Today's card if for my Goddaughter. You will have to forgive my poor photos today. The snow finally came here, and that made the outside lighting terrible today. I used this cute image from The Greeting Farm, and colored with colored pencils. I added some stickles and liquid pearls. The PP is from SEI, and I added some little gems. The sentiment if from TGF also.

This card is for the following challenges:

What if Wednesday: sketch challenge

Whimsie Doodles: photo inspiration (the colors are all from the "boot")
