True Friends...

Hi there. Quick post for me today. Gotta run to work...uggggg. I wanted to share a card I made using the Eureka Stamps True Friends stamp. I have some wonderful friends in my life right now that are helping keep me together. SO this stamp made me think of them.

I stamped the image onto cream CS, and trimmed it down. I stamped again on white CS so I could make fluffy clouds. I used watercolor crayons to color the rainbow, and layered onto pink CS. I used some rainbow CS for the background and layered onto a cream CS base.

Well I am off to work...lucky me! LOL

SNSSDC - Cats and Dogs

HI there! Happy Friday. I hope you all had a lovely week. I got sick earlier this week. I am a horrible sick person...lol. I get super whiny and needy...so yeah...I am extra fun to be around...lol. Anyway we have a new challenge for you at the Sweet 'n Sassy Digi Challenge Blog today. Our challenge today is Cats and Dogs! Here is what I came up with. I started with the adorable Playful Pup Digi from the Sweet 'n Sassy store. I printed this guy, and colored with watercolor crayons. (Gotta say...we just got new printer ink, and for some reason it is "off"...so all my digis printed a little funny...but I think I covered it pretty well..lol.) I trimmed the image down and layered onto some brown CS. Next I layered that onto some cloud PP. This little guys looked like he needed to run around on some fluffy spring clouds. I used some pink twine and a yellow button as embellishments. I layered all that onto a yellow CS base.

SNSSDC - Tent Card

We have a new challenge for you this week at the Sweet 'n Sassy Digi Challenge. I must say...this is a fun one. This time around we challenge you to make a Tent Card using a digi image. HERE is the splitcoast tutorial on how to make them. Gotta say, I don't think I have ever made one of these, but I LOVE the way it turned out. I think what I like the most, is it is easy for the receiver to display your homemade creation. For my card, I used the Chef Cocoa digi from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. I colored in the image with watercolor crayons, and fussy cut it out. For the base, I used white CS, and layered the kitchen themed PP onto that. The PP on the front has various spices names all over it. The reverse side is the kitchen tools. I used some green PP for a little frame around the opening. I added Cocoa and then some little kitchen tool embellishments. I really liked making the tent card, and plan to do it again very soon.
Give it a try! First, head on over to the SNSSDC Blog and see what the rest of the DT gals created. Then play along!

Stain Glass Wannabe...

Ok...so I had this vision to create a "stained glass" looking card. Started out great! Loved the way it was going. Then I got stuck...and am not thrilled with the results, but kinda like it. It was all good until I got back to the project and found it all curled up (since it was vellum and I used glue and H2Os on it). So then I started at it and wondering where to go next. Also, silly me, forgot to take a picture of the back of the vellum before mounting it. The back is what looked pretty cool, and would have showed you how much work when into it...lol. Well...here is what you get instead....and a close up of the edging...
So I started by stamping the Daffodils stamp from Biblical Impressions onto vellum. I then used a glue pen and glitter to fill in some of the areas. You can see that I used different color glitters on the flower. I used some twinkling H2Os for the stems and leaves. Then when you flip over the vellum to the "other side" the colors show through. (Again, I totally should have taken a photo before I mounted, but yeah...that slipped my mind.) Like I said, when I came back to the image after letting it dry, it was a bit curled up. So I needed to change my mounting plan. I decided to use scor-tape to hold it down. I picked a wider tape so that I could use black glitter around the edges to look like the molding of the stain glass. AGAIN...epic fail...couldn't find the black glitter...lol. So I went with black embossing powder. Honestly...I loved the results of that. The way it melted looked more "realistic", so I went with it. Then came the tricky part...what to do next. So I went simple, and just mounted that onto some purple CS, and said...IT IS DONE! I would have liked to have added a sentiment somehow, but ran out of space. Overall, it is very pretty and different. It could be used for some many different occasions also. Well thanks for stopping by, and have a fantastic day!

Pot of Gold

Hi there. I hope you are all enjoying your Monday so far. Here in the US it is a holiday...plus my kids have the entire week off of school too. They of course are off skiing...lol. Well, today I wanted to share a card with you that I made using the Lg. Pot of Shamrocks stamp from Eureka Stamps. I stamped the image and fussy cut it out. Then I added some gold stickles to the handle, and colored the shamrocks green. I felt some of the shamrocks needed to sparkle, so I added green stickles to some of those. I layered the pot onto 2 different shades of green CS, and then onto a green PP that I "stole" from my DD's paper stack (psss...don't tell her...lol). Then I found some scraps of green ribbon. I wanted to put a bow on, but there wasn't enough ribbon left, so I just put the 2 pieces on the paper instead.
Well that is all for now. I will be back in a bit with a card I made with a card I made with a Biblical Impressions stamp. However I decided to make it a little more "elaborate" then I originally intended, so it had to sit and dry before I mounted it...lol.

SNSSDC - Photo Inspiration

Hi there! Today we have a new challenge for you at the Sweet 'n Sassy Digi Challenge. Our challenge this time around is to use this....photo as your inspiration. Don't those little treats look so yummy? Well, when I looked at this photo, I decided to focus more on the flowers then the food (since I really don't need the food...lol). The flowers reminded me of the flowers that Cocoa is holding in the Lilacs for Cocoa digi from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. Yes, I know lilacs are usually purple...however I used my "creative licence" to make them pink...lol. I colored in the image with watercolor crayons, and then used brown ink and a stipple brush around the edges. I used a corner rounder on all my layered except the base and the polka dots. For my sentiment, I used one of the sayings from the Flower Sentiments Digi set from SNSS. I also stippled on that one. Last, I added a few brown "pearls". So I used the photo inspiration for color and the flowers. How will you use it? Be sure to head on over to the SNSSDC Blog and see how the rest of the DT gals used the photo, and then link up your project!

SNSSDC - Hats Off to You!

Hello there. As you are reading this, I am probably at my DDs' school going insane! That is right...the event myself and my dear friend have been planning for a year now is finally here! This is the biggest fundraiser for our school, and I am the crazy lady who signed up to co-chair the entire event. I will say...it is a lot of work, but I think in the end it will be so rewarding to see it all come together. In honor of that I thought a Celebration card was in order. Our challenge this week at teh Sweet 'n Sassy Digi Challenge Blog is "Hats Off...", so use a digi image with a hat, or have hats as an element with your digi image. So I thought the Celebrate digi from SNSS was perfect for my Celebration card. My photo isn't the greatest again this week because I had to take it late at night after spending 12 hours straight at the school...lol. For my image, I added a little bit of color with marker, and then used some fun flock on the kitty. I layered onto a piece of PP from Echo Park. For the base, I pulled out the ol' Cuttlebug (which I haven't used in FOREVER!) and ran some yellow CS through with an embossing folder. I added some ribbon too. A simple cute Celebration card!
