Spring Flowers

Hi there. So I usually share a QKR Stampede card on Thursdays, but today I decided to go with an image from one of the sister companies called Eureka Stamps. Not sure if you are aware, but there are actually 3 companies in all...QKR Stampede, Eureka Stamps, and Biblical Impressions. There are sooo many awesome images between the 3 of them. Really something for everyone. Well today, I wanted to share this gorgeous Tulip and Pansies Frame image. I actually made 2 cards with it for you too! This is the first one I made. For this one, I used black ink, and stamped onto the white CS. Then I used watercolor crayons to color. I trimmed right along the "frame" line, and adhered it to a orangish/peachish CS base. I used a rub-on for the sentiment. Then I added some sparkle! I used some pink glitter on the tulip, and some yellow stickles on the center of the pansies. Here is the 2nd one...This time, I stamped with Versamark, and embossed with gold embossing powder. Then I colored again with watercolor crayons. I trimmed around the frame, and put it on some light purple CS. I added the rub-on sentiment to the bottom this time. Ok...one last set of photos...lol...I wanted to share my inspiration for these colored flowers. My DH and I took our girls to the local botanical gardens last week. They spring flowers were in bloom everywhere. So I took some photos, and used the colors as my inspiration. Here are the ones that I used for the inspiration of these cards.

Ok...I am done now...lol. Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day.

Simon Says Challenge - Anything Goes

A Royal Belli Challenge

Yes the talk of the entire world right now is the big "Royal Wedding". Personally I am not all the goo goo over the whole thing...but it is the biggest news right now....lol. Well our challenge this week at the Creative Belli Challenge is going right along with the "Royal Wedding"...we are challenging you to make a "Royal" card...using "royal" embellishments. Some ideas might be: fleur de lis, diamonds, princess, crowns, tiaras, the color purple, etc... You get the idea. Well here is what I came up with. As you can see, I went with purple (the color associated with royalty) and some diamonds and sparkle. My pattern paper is all very very old...which is the idea behind the Belli Challenge...use what you have! I layered the flower PP, then the purple oval on that. For the princess, I used a SU die cut...BUT...I didn't use the die cut, I used the frame from the die cut. I then took a piece of muslin and "sponged" the purple ink onto the CS. I thought it gave it a neat look using the muslin instead of a sponge or stipple brush. The I trimmed it down, and layered onto the oval. The sentiment is a a very old sticker I had in my sticker stash. Last, I added some more "royal" embellishments. Some diamonds on the crown, and stickles on the crown... I also added some stickles to her dress for a "shiny, royal" look. I used stickles all around the dress shape, and then some extra around the skirt part of the dress. A very simple card, but it seemed "royal" to me!
Now, head on over to the Creative Belli Challenge for some more royal inspiration. Don't forget to play along with us, by linking up your royal creation on the bottom of the Creative Belli 116 post! Can't wait to see what you come up with!

Now onto today's Crazy 4 Cocoa challenge. This week we are challenging you to use pink and yellow with your Cocoa image. Here is what I came up with...I started with the adorable De"light"ful Cocoa digi image. I colored with colored pencils and gamsol. Then I used crystal effects on the "glass" part of the candle, so it looked like glass. Next I layered Cocoa onto some pink PP from SEI. Next I layered that onto some yellow CS and onto a white CS base. I used a sentiment from the SNSS digi set called Light Sentiments & Scripture. I layered that onto some pink PP. Next I added some pink and yellow ribbon...which you can't see very well, because I covered it with that big ol' yellow and pink flower...lol. BUT...I promise it is there.
Well that is all for now. Head on over to the Crazy 4 Cocoa blog, and see what the rest of the DT ladies have made. Then join us for our last Cocoa challenge! Don't forget to become a follower of the new digi challenge blog too!

First Communion Frame

Hi there. I hope you all had a wonderful and blessed Easter. We had a wonderful day with family. I wanted to share a project I made as a gift for my DD. In just a couple weeks, she will be making her first communion. Last week while she was off of school, I took her to have photos taken. My plan was to go and ONLY get the $9.99 package....well...yeah I totally got sucked in...lol. I tried to tell my hubby to come with me...but he didn't listen...and well I am just a sucker for beautiful photos. So...I already had this frame started, and now I have photos to put on it! I picked up this photo box from my LSS. I believe it is from 7 Gypsies. I also picked up the various PP's I used at my LSS. I am rather amazed at how difficult it is to find religious themed papers! I am currently searching for a religious/1st Communion themed scrapbook kit. If anyone knows of a place to get one at a reasonable price...feel free to leave it in the comments on this post. Anyway...here is what I made her, and some close-ups too.Ok...so this is the whole photo box. I just love the way it turned out. I simply cut the papers to fit the 4x6 boxes...then added various embellishments. (Which by the way are also hard to find religious embellishments.) I was able to find some stickers at AC Moore, and some little cross charms at my LSS. Now...here are some close ups of some of the boxes. For this box, I added some Prima flowers to the base of the photo. Then I added some platinum stickles to those. You can also see the top of one of the stickers I added. For this box, I used my Cricut to cut the date of the 1st Communion. Then I added some smooth pearls to the letters for shine. I also added some stickers and a little cross charm I picked up at my LSS. For this box, I used a big pearl and diamond/rhinestone flourish I picked up at AC Moore. It is one of those big sticker ones. I added the little cross charm, a cross sticker, and some Prima daisies. I think this is one of my favorite boxes...just so pretty. For this box...the cross is the main focal point. The cross is just the PP. I cut it to be the center of the box. Then I added some more of those little Prima rosebuds. I again used the platinum stickles, and added them to the cross and the flowers.
Well, that is all for now. She has already seen this, and it is already hanging on my wall. She just loves it...and so do I! Thanks for stopping by!

I am submitting this for the following Challenge:

Do You Stack Up? - Easter Blog Hop challenge. You must do the blog hop, and put the letters together to know the theme for this week. Plus the hop gets you in for lots of fun prizes!

Confirmation Card

I wanted to share a card I made for a friend of mine, who is making her Confirmation at the Easter Vigil tonight. I am sooo excited for her! I actually colored the image for this card a few weeks ago, and it has sat on my table ever since...lol. Well today I finished it, so I thought I would share it. I started with this beautiful digi image from Sweet 'n Sassy called Christ Arose. It is actually a digi set that you get a couple sentiments with also. I colored it was colored pencils and gamsol. Then I trimmed it down, rounded the corners, and layered onto the PP from the Target $1 spot. I cut a piece of white CS for the sentiment and hand wrote part of Romans 15:13. I thought the verse was very fitting. As you can see...a very CAS card, but I thought it turned out pretty. I just love this image...such a great reminder of the real meaning of Easter. May you and your family be blessed this Easter!

HE is Risen

HI there. Wow what a week so far. It has been FREEZING every day, so no outside time for us. But, since the kids and my hubby are off this week from school/work, we are trying to find lots of things to do. There is an Easter Tradition here in Buffalo, NY that you take a trip to the Broadway Market. Broadway Market is a very old market over in the not so nice neighborhood, but they have really kept it up. At Easter, it is a big thing to go visit the market. There are TONS of vendors selling; meat, fruit, breads, baked goods, and CHOCOLATE!!! They also have an Easter Bunny, balloon man (you know the ones that shape the balloons), and more. So you get the point...oh and I should mention it is a Polish market...so don't forget the pussy willows for Dyngus Day! Yeah...Dyngus Day is a whole different story...lol. Well on Monday our family took a trip there. It is just so fun walking around and checking everything out. They girls enjoyed the excitement of it all.
Last night we took our girls to the Horse Races. It really was fun. And I have to say...a great environment. It really was a family environment, and I never once heard a swear word. I was kinda surprised how many families were there. Although for FREE...yes free...except we ended up getting some pop/soda, coffee, and a snack. It was really neat watching it all live. Here is a picture of my girls watching the excitement of the horse races. Ok...I guess I should get on to my card now...lol. Today's card is a very very simple card...but it is more the technique I used to make it. I haven't done this in a while, and thought it would look so pretty with this CROSS image from QKR Stampede. I started by stamping the image with Versamark onto some rainbow CS. Then I embossed with clear embossing powder. Next, I took out my brayer (after I found it...it has been a while...lol), and brayered brown ink over the entire piece of CS. Then I took a cloth, and wiped the embossed CROSS image. AND...TADA...the rainbow paper shines through. Here is the rest of the card. Like I said...very simple...but I couldn't think what else to add...since it already looked so pretty. Sometimes simple is best. I used a white gel pen to hand write the "HE is Risen!!". I guess I was trying to catch the importance of the season with this one. It isn't about all the craziness of things...like the market...but the mere fact that our Savior, Jesus Christ died for us and rose again 3 days later! Such an amazing act of love!

Well, that is all for now. If I am not back before Sunday, I wish you all a wonderful Easter!

Crazy 4 Cocoa - thinking of you

Hi there. Today we have a new challenge for you over at the Crazy 4 Cocoa Blog. Our challenge this week is "Thinking of You". We challenge you to grab a Cocoa image, and create a Thinking of You card. Here is what I came up with. I started with Cocoa's Latte clear stamp set. I inked him up, and stamped once on white CS, and again on some brown PP. Then I colored Cocoa and a little of the cup with markers, and paper pieced the brown PP over the "holder" of the cup. I then used the "thinking of you " sentiment from another Sweet 'n Sassy clear set on the "holder" of the mug. Next I began layering. I layered Cocoa onto some PP from Papertrey ink, then onto more of the brown PP. Last, I added some sheer ribbon, and a couple silk flowers. Oh, and the little pearls for the flower centers.

Now head on over to the Crazy 4 Cocoa blog, and see what the other Cococa Crazies have made for your inspiration. Then, play along with us! Don't have a Cocoa image yet? No need to worry...head on over to the Sweet 'n Sassy online store, and you can grab one right away in digi form, or order some of the great clear stamps too!

When Life Gives You...

Well I would say lemons...but how about SNOW! YES SNOW...it is April 18th, and officially spring, but my front yard is covered in SNOW! It has been snowing for the past 2 days, but today it is sticking...and well frankly that makes me mad...lol. I watched the noon news, and the weather lady said..."yes it is snowing, but it won't stick." Well, I have proof it DID stick. HAPPY SPRING!!!! Isn't it lovely?!!! LOL Well...instead of staring out my window and crying about that fact that my children are spending spring break INSIDE the house. I decided to make a card. Isn't this more fun and springy! Well more summery then anything, but I love it! I made this card to enter into a couple challenges. First...I am entering this in the April Imaginisce Challenge...Paper Piecing. At least 75% of the products on the card have to be Imaginisce...and mine are all from the Berrylicious line. I stamped this little Lemon Snag 'Em stamp onto some of the PP and again on red and pink CS. Then I paper pieced the mouth and cheeks on the lemon. Next I layered that onto a scrap of HoneyPOP pad I had from my previous card. I turned it into a little "sun" or "flower" or "yellow puffy layer thingy" to mount the lemon on. Next I used LOT OF LAYERS...which is the Challenge this week at the Cupcake Craft Challenge Blog. I layered the yellow PP first, then the stripes, then the cute garden PP (all from Imaginisce). Last, I added the chipboard sticker to the bottom of the card. I thought this would be a cute card to give a teenager or child that was having a rough day. So...I am entering this in the Simon Says Challenge which is A Card for a Child. There is also "scallops" cut along the PP for this one, which is the challenge at Do You Stack Up this week.

Well that is all for now. I am off to go hide my nose in a book so I can't see the snow...lol. Thanks for stopping by!

Morgan's Card

Hi there. Wanted to share a card my DD Morgan made for a special challenge over at the Simon Says Challenge blog. They are hosting an "anything goes" challenge for kids ages 2-16....so she wanted to play along. Here is the card she made. She used this adorable Cocoa Mouse digi from Sweet 'n Sassy, and colored with gel pens. Then she cut it out, and layered onto the PP from the Target $1 spot. She added a ribbon bow, and some brads. She even did the Crop-o-dile herself! Last she wrote the sentiment on herself too.

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy "Bird-day"

Hi there. Today I wanted to share I card I made using a new fun product I picked up at my LSS the other day. I have been eyeing this stuff since Inky Antics posted it on their blog. The line is called HoneyPOP, and is just sooo fun! The line includes some stamp sets as well as the "honeyPOP" paper pads. Now when you see the inside you will totally be taken back to the "old days", when we went to a birthday party, and someone had those cool puffy paper trees on their table, or balls hanging from the ceiling. LOL I have to say...it is SUPER easy to work with, and a lot of fun. So...let me share my HoneyPOP creation with you now. Here is the front of my card...I used this bird image from the Cupcake Birdy HoneyPOP clear set. I stamped him and colored with markers. Then I layered onto various cupcake themed PPs. For the base, I used white CS with a green CS on top of that. Next, I added some little flowers, and the sentiment (which is from the same stamp set). Now for the inside! This is what you see when you open the card... How fun is that???!!! When my girls saw this, they were sooo excited. Honestly, I couldn't get the card away from them...lol. I am hoping they don't touch the fun paper "HoneyPOP" stuff too much...I need to give this card to someone later this week! I used yellow HoneyPOP paper, and for the "cupcake wrapper", I used some Echo Park PP from the Little Girl line. I stamped the sentiment using more of the stamps from the same stamp set. Well, isn't that sooo fun? I just love the way it turned out. I totally need to get my hands on more of this HoneyPOP paper!
Thanks for stopping by!

Slow and Steady Blog Crawl - QKR Stampede

Hi there and welcome to the QKR Stampede "Slow and Steady Blog Crawl"!!!
If you arrived here from Roxie's blog then you are on the right path. If this is your first stop, please head back to the QKR Stampede Blog and start from the top. You don't want to miss a bit of this hop! SO...if you did come from Roxie's blog...lets get started! First...wasn't her project great???!!! I just love seeing all the creative talent from the rest of the DT. This hop we are featuring some of the turtle images that are available in the QKR Stampede store. Hence the "slow and steady" title. I actually made a card to go right along with the title today.I started by stamping this running turtle called "Slow and Steady" (see...perfect...lol). I actually picked this image because my oldest DD recently joined a program called Girls on the Run. It is an national program for young girls grades 3-8. They not only train to run a 5k, but they work on self-esteem, nutrition, and more. I was sooo excited that she was able to be a part of this. So...back to the card...I thought this would be the perfect image to use for a future scrapbook page, as well as a card for the coach at the end of the season. So I colored him/or her in this case with watercolor crayons, and layered onto the PP. The PPs are all from TAC. I just loved the color combos in the papers, and all the greens reminded me of turtles. Well now, I must send you off for some more eye candy! Head on over to...
Don't forget if you get lost anytime along the way to head back to the QKR Stampede Blog for a complete list of the "crawl" order. Thanks for crawling by!!!
HI there. Today I wanted to share a fun LO page I made. I am finding myself getting more and more fancy with my scrapbooking. Which is good, but also means it takes me longer to make a page...lol. Anyway, today's LO page used an adorable turtle image called Golfing Turtle from QKR Stampede. Isn't he cute? I just think he is so goofy and fun looking. Well I I stamped this guy on some CS twice, then colored him with markers. Then I fussy cut him out. I used the 2nd image to make his shell pop. I fussy cut the shell from the 2nd stamped image and used pop dots to make his shell stick out. Then I layered him onto the cloud PP from CTMH. Next, I added him to this layout page...Isn't he a perfect fit?...lol. These are photos from my DD's birthday party back in January. She had a mini golf party. She was so thrilled to get the ball in the hole (after 40 hits, but still...). I layered the photos onto orange CS mats. The background paper is from CTMH. I used my Cricut to cut out the "WOW" that I attached to the one photo. It goes perfect with her facial expression. I used a little sheer piece from Maya Road, and wrote on it with a Sharpie. Last, I put the layered flowers on to "balance" out the LO. I am really pleased with the way this turned out. OH and happy to say I officially have 1 page done of my 2011 album! LOL.

Anyway...please join the QKR Stampede DT tomorrow morning for our "Slow and Steady Blog Crawl"! The Crawl begins tomorrow 4/15 at 8am EST right HERE on the QKR Stampede Blog. We look forward to you crawling over and checking out all the fun turtle images the DT has to share with you!

Creative Belli 115 - Eggs and Bunnies

Yes Eggs and Bunnies...that is our challenge this week over at the Creative Belli Challenge. Hard to believe Easter is only a couple weeks away! My girls start there Easter break from school on Friday, and have the entire next week off. I am just praying for nice weather during this break...hoping to get some great family outside time in! Well anyway...back to the Belli Challenge...I am easily side tracked...in honor of the upcoming holiday, we challenge you to grab your old forgotten egg and bunnies embellishments, and create! Here is the little bunny I inked up... Isn't he sweet????!!! I can honestly say I have never inked this adorable guy up. I bought this set from TAC over a year ago, and out of all the stamps in the set, I only ever used 1...and it wasn't this guy. So...today was the day! I inked this guy up and colored with water color crayons. Then added some white fun flock to his tail, and a little around his face. Next I layered him onto a yellow square. Here is how the entire card turned out...
So I grabbed some more forgotten bunnies for this rest of the card. This PP is from Target $1 spot last year. I totally forgot I had it until I started digging for Easter themed papers. So I trimmed it down, and layered onto a white CS base. For the 2nd square on here, I grabbed the little flower image from the same stamp set as the bunny, and randomly stamped it in the background. Then I used some brown ink to stamp the sentiment (again from the same stamp set). Last, I added the little i-rock rhinestuds to the bottom corner. A very simple card, but I thought it turned out pretty cute.

Now...head on over to the Creative Belli Challenge blog, and see what the rest of the DT gals have created for this theme. Then grab those old forgotten eggs and bunnies, and play along!

OH, and you will also notice some changes to the Creative Belli Challenge. After 3 years of providing us was amazing challenges, and inspiration, the creators of the Belli Blog, have decided to step down. BUT...the good news is Leah Cornelius has stepped up to take over! If you are not familiar with Leah, she is the owner of Heart Song Designs....and is a very talented artist. I can't wait to start working with Leah, and look forward to what lies ahead with the Belli Challenge. Both Holly and Chris will be deeply missed, but I trust that GOD has bigger and better things in store for them. I wish them the best of luck in all that lies ahead for them. I also would like to say a special thank you to Chris and Holly for allowing me to be a part of the super talented Belli DT...I feel so honored to have spent the past year on the Belli Team working with them both.

Happy Birthday Eric!!!

Hi there. Today is my DH's birthday, so I decided to take advantage of this week's new Crazy 4 Cocoa Challenge to make his card. Our challenge this week is to make a Masculine creation using none other then COCOA Mouse! So...I don't do masculine very well, but I was very pleased with this card. I used the Cocoa Kind of Birthday clear set (from Sweet 'n Sassy), and did some paper piecing... Oh I just think Cocoa is soooo cute! Then I used some of the same papers I used on the paper pieced hat to make this card...
All the PP's are from Basic Grey's Archaic line. I stamped and colored Cocoa, then added the paper pieced pieces (say that 10 times fast...lol). Then I layered that onto the various pieces of PP circles and rectangles. I hand wrote "Happy Birthday Eric" on the small circle...since I didn't have a stamp small enough to fit without going sideways on that little circle. Now...off to celebrate...well first I have to go buy his gift...lol. I guess I am a bit last minute this year.

Be sure to stop on over to the Crazy 4 Cocoa blog now and see what the rest of the DT ladies have made for your inspiration. Then grab a Cocoa image, and make your own masculine Cocoa Creation...link it up so we can see! Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Easter - QKR Stampede Style

Hi there. Today I wanted to share a cute Easter card I made using the Happy Easter image from QKR Stampede. I thought this image was just adorable! I stamped the image in black ink, and then stamped again on some PP from Echo Park. I then paper pieced the the little sign on his hands. I colored the bunny with markers. I know Easter bunnies are usually white, but I wanted to be different...lol. Next I trimmed him down, and layered onto the various PPs from Echo Park. I added the sequence trim from Maya Road, and then the layered papered flowers from CM. I thought it turned out pretty cute.

Sunday Scrappin

We had a pretty "slow" Sunday. My poor hubby is not feeling well at all. He has a fever, and all the other things that go with that. So, we spend the day at home...other then going to church. Well, I was feeling somewhat motivated today, so I FINALLY finished my 2010 album! I had 5 pages left that needed titles and journaling. So I got to work. Here are 2 of the pages that I liked best. This page is my oldest DD with my nephew around Christmas time. These 2 just love being together. Since they live out of town, we don't' see them often, but when we do...they are inseparable. I was so glad this photo of them hugging came out. The papers I used are CTMH, and the rub-ons are from Fancy Pants. This page is actually the last page in our 2010 album. The first page of the 2010 books was this same pose in front of the fire place. The idea was to see how much they grew over the year. The numbers on the top are chipboard from Maya Road that I sponge painted white. The PP is all CTMH. I used the white on the bottom for some journaling. Well now that this album is done I guess I need to get started on the Christmas 2010 album, and our vacation album from February. Then onto some 2011 fun. It just never ends...lol

Saturday Crafting Fun!

Hi there! I just returned home from my LSS (Buffalo Stamps & Stuff). Today they had a kids craft class. So I took my older 2 girls. We only purchased 1 class kit, and all 3 of us worked together. It was a great time! I love crafting with my girls. Of course being me...I can't go anywhere without my camera...so I took a few pictures while we were there. You will also notice the stuff bear in the photos. My middle daughter brought home the class teddy bear for the weekend. It is our weekend to "host" him, so we brought him along. He sat on the table while we were crafting. In the journal that comes with the bear, they want you to include photos of what you did while "Edu" was visiting with you. So, I got a few shots at the stamp store craft time. Well here is a few of the photos I took.
This is the girls waiting to start. We got our class kit, and we are ready to go!Enjoying a little treat from Sharon, the store owner.Yum, Yum...these were good cookies! Here is our work in progress. As you can see from this photo, it was a punch out die-cut kit that we worked with. Here is a few of the wheels and the little wagon cars in progress. And our finished Bunny Wagon Basket! Isn't this just adorable???!!! It is already nicely placed in the center of our table at home, and filled with some yummy treats. They gave the kids some treats at the class to fill each little car and the baggie with the big bunny on it.
My girls proudly showing off their finished project. Thanks Buffalo Stamps and Stuff for a great class! What a fun way to spend our Saturday afternoon.

Morgan's DT Card - Messy's Mini Mission

Hi there. I am sooo excited to announce that my oldest Daughter Morgan has been chosen to be on a Design team!!! She is proud to be an Agent over at Messy's Mini Missions! Morgan is just thrilled to be part of a DT. Messy's Mini Missions is a children's challenge blog open to children 16 and under. What a wonderful way to get your children involved in your crafting! Well today is her first challenge as part of the team. The challenge is Fairy Tales, and this month the challenge sponsor is Dustin Pike. Morgan used the castle image, which is available in the Doodle Dragon Studio Ever After 11 digi set. She printed out this digi, and colored with colored pencils. Then she fussy cut it down, and layered onto some PP from the Target $1 spot. She added some Maya Road ribbon, and some rhinestone heart brads from mom's stash. The sentiment is from QKR Stampede. She actually used this card for her youngest sister's birthday last weekend. Now head on over to the Messy's Mini Missions blog, and see what the other Agents have come up with. Then, have your child grab some paper, ink, and stamps, and play along! Thanks for stopping by!
