Fall Frame

Hello there. It is hard to believe that September is pretty much over! Not sure about your house, but we are in full Halloween prep mode here. The girls are "planning" their costumes, and looking forward to trick-or-treating. Well today in honor of fall, I wanted to share a fun fall frame I made using the gorgeous LEAF stamp from QKR Stampede. I thought it would be fun to alter something, so I picked up this wooden frame at Michaels for $1. I used some brown PP I had on hand, and layered that onto the frame. I used Mod-podge to attach it. Next I used my Cricut to cut the word "Fall" from some PP. Then I added the LEAF image. Here is a close up of the image cause I LOVE the way it turned out. I used the baby wipe technique for this. It is sooo easy, and makes the most beautiful images. I used 4 different color reinkers (orange, red, green, and brown). Since I made the baby wipe "ink pad", I stamped a whole bunch of these off. I will be sharing a pretty card with you sometime soon that I made with this leaf too. So...I fussy cut the leaves, and attached them to the frame. Last, I added some "bling". I used my i-Rock to attach the crystals. The swirls reminded me of wind blowing. You know how they always drawn wind in a picture, well that is what the swirls looked like to me.
Well that is all for now. Thanks for stopping by! Oh, and be sure to stop by the QKR Stampede store either to get this leaf for yourself, or some of the other awesome images available.
I am using this project for this weeks Simon Says Challenge too. The challenge is to make a project using the photo inspiration provided.

Creative Belli Challenge 101 - Embellish with a Number!

Hello there! Happy Wednesday! Hope you are having a wonderful week. Today we have a brand new Creative Belli Challenge for you! We would like you to embellish with a number. Now...don't forget the "spirit" of the Belli challenge is to use something you already have in your stash. We are trying to help you use up what you have...lol. So this week search through that chipboard, rub-ons, brads, etc, and find something with a number on it. Here is what I came up with.I decided to take advantage of this # challenge by making a 1st birthday card. I don't "need" the card until November, but what a great time to get it done! I used the adorable Cocoa mouse with birthday hat image from Sweet 'n Sassy. I colored him with markers, and layered onto this adorable piece of BOY colored birthday hat paper (as a mom of 3 girls blue is a foreign color to me). The PP is actually a "scrap" from the album I made for my nephew, so this is perfect to use for his birthday card! Now...my number embellishment...I pulled out the GIANT tin of chipboard letters and numbers, and dug...yes dug. Why did I have to dig? Well brilliant me decided when I bought the chipboard #'s and letters to punch them all out so that I wouldn't have to try to find something when I needed it. LOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!! MISTAKE! Now I can't find what I need at all! So, I haven't touched the giant bin of already punched out chipboard pieces in forever! I think I bought it about 2 years ago. So, after about 10 minutes of searching (no lie) I finally found a #1. And this lovely star was in there too! So I layered the #1 onto the star.

Now it is your turn. Start digging into that giant tin full of chipboard, or whatever you have. We want to see what you come up with. So head on over to the Creative Belli Challenge and link up your number embellished project. Don't forget to check out what the other talented Belli Girls came up with too!

Snowy Friends

Hi there. Well, I promise I have been creating this week, but I haven't had a chance to share...lol. No need to worry though, I promise to share at least for the next 3 days straight. Today I have a card to share that I made using the current What if Wednesday sketch. I decided to use some of the penguin images from Repeat Impressions too! I had to have these penguins, and was soooo excited to purchase the full sheet back in August.

Sorry the photo is a little dark...it has been raining on and off all day here. I stamped the penguin trio and colored the head gear with markers. I used some of the snowflake images from the same sheet of stamps for the small ovals, and the top of the penguin oval. The PP is from SEI's Kris Kringle collection. The ribbon is from my stash...I think it was a Target $1 spot purchase a few years back.

Well that is all for now...stop back tomorrow for a brand new Creative Belli Challenge!

Natalie's Challenge Card

Here is my daughter Natalie's card for the Kona Kid Krafter's Challenge. The current challenge is "Something Special". She choose this adorable special owl.
The image is from Sweet 'n Sassy, and she colored it with gel pens. I helped her cut a branch with the Cricut. The whole idea of the owl on a branch in the night time was her idea. She found this PP in my stash, and it fit perfect! She wanted a moon too. The stars we added with the i-Rock.

Morgan's Challenge Card

Here is my daughter Morgan's card for the current Kona Kid Krafter's Challenge. The challenge this time is "Something Special". She choose to make a card using a special season...fall!
The image is a Riley Moose from Hannah Stamps, the PP is from the Target $1 spot, and the sentiment is from TAC. Oh and the little gems are from our LSS...the nice lady gave the girls a couple one time we were there.

Ashley's Challenge Card

Here is my daughter Ashley's card for the current Kona Kid Krafter's Challenge. The current challenge is "Something Special". Ash decided to go with some special flowers, and her "2nd favorite color" green. The image is from High Hopes. The PP is from a stack I have had FOREVER. The ribbon is a scrap from something, and the flowers are from Imaginicse. She used gel pens to color the image, and I helped her trim it down.

My first Magnolia!!!

So when I first saw the Magnolia stamps, I didn't like them. Something about the no face thing was a bit weird to me, but I can honestly say they are growing on me. I finally decided I wanted one, but have been putting off getting one because they are a little more expensive then some other stamps. Well, good news...I WON one, and the wonderful people over at Kona Kid Krafters also threw in a few stamped off images for me too. I was chosen as this quarter's mommy helper winner, and won a Magnolia image, some flowers, and a butterfly stamp. Well, I wanted to play with one of these stamped off images right away. So I sat down yesterday and colored the image, and began the "add wayyyy too much stickles because it is fun" process. Here is what I came up with. I am also using this card for this week's Simon Says Challenge, which is a sketch this week. I just love the way this turned out. I colored the image with markers, and added some (well a lot) of stickles to her wings and wand. I used my wonderful new fiskers rolling cutter thingy that my dear friend Diana gave me to cut around Tilda. I used a little olive green chalk pad to ink distress the edges. The PP I picked up the other day at Target in the $1 spot (because I totally needed to buy more paper....LOL!). The little sentiment is from SU, and I also ink distressed that CS too. Last, I added the little flowers (which were in my goodie bag candy I won), and the little i-Rock pearls. I was very happy with this way this turned out. I think it would make a cute birthday card for a little girl, or even a big girl. Well that is all I have had time to do this week...lol. I am hoping for some well deserved stamp room time this weekend. I am also headed to Micheal's store tomorrow to have my oldest DD do their make and take with the American Girl stuff. She soooo wants those products. The line is great, and they have some great PP too! Maybe I should get some....LOL!
Have a great weekend!

You're GRRRRReat!

Hello...happy Thursday! Uggg...what a week. I thought last week was bad, well this week I have only had time to make 1 card so far! So, I am going to share it with you...lol. I am really hoping to spend Sunday in the craftroom...since football will be on the TV all day, and really who wants to watch that...lol. So, today's card is using one of the awesome QKR Stampede stamps. This lion stamp is just soooo cute. He can be used for so many things too. I can see this as a Valentine stamp, new baby boy stamp, birthday, and well many more occasions! I used this week's Sweet Stop Sketch as my LO for this card, and they also have a spin on the sketch this week...which is to use yellow and red. I started by stamping the lion and coloring him with markers. I added some platinum stickles to his crown, and red stickles to the heart. For the base, I used white CS, and layered with the red PP from DCWV. I decided to "make" some paper for the strip going behind the lion, so I used 3 different inks and distressed the white CS. I also ink distressed the edges of all the PP, the circles, and the base. I layered the yellow polka dot paper onto the red paper. I added some red ribbon, two yellow buttons, and I used a sticky cut flower too. For the sticky cut, I added some glitter to it, and layered the circle onto that. I used red stickles to write the saying. I hope you like it! Thanks for stopping by today. OH, and don't forget to stop by the QKR Stampede store to pick up this adorable lion image, or some of the other fabulous images!

Another Scrapbook page

HI there! Hope you had a wonderful weekend. As usual, ours was jam packed. I finally had my garage sale...WOO HOO! Didn't do too bad at it either. Well today I thought I would share another page from my nephew's album I made him. This page is also perfect for this week's Cupcake Craft Challenge...which is Transport. As you can see this fits for transport because of all the cars and roads and trucks on there. I used the cars PP as the background, and added the vellum "O..." strip to the top of the page. I used my Cricut to cut the dump trucks which are to used as photo mats. Well that is all for now, will be back later this week with some other projects.

K is for Kisses...

So I thought I would share this page I made for my nephew's 1st birthday gift. A while back I shared some of the other pages I made for this album too. I purchased the vellum ABC's of baby's first year set back in May, and am using an album I purchased years ago, and has been sitting sealed on my shelf since I bought it...lol. I even had a set of refill pages for it, which is probably good since the store I bought it at is no longer in business...so who knows if I could even find the pages that go in it. Well, I have been slowly working on getting all the letters done, but have a few I have struggled with. I just couldn't find the right paper for the background, or just had no ideas what to do with the page. The "K" page is one of those pages. I just wasn't sure the route to go with this one. I thought a paper with lips all over it would be cute, but worried the pink on it would be too girly. I finally found a paper that just jumped right out at me.

So, it does have pink on it, but I thought it turned out super cute. I used my Cricut to cut out a big heart to use at the photo mat, and also cut some "xoxo"s out to add too it too. So it seems a bit girly to me, but really it is not easy to find blue or green lips paper...lol. I added some white chalk ink to the edges of the heart with a stipple brush. I also added some white chalk ink to the "xoxo"s. Sorry about the glare on this photo...the lips are metallic, so the light just hit it right. I tried another shot, but it was too dark.

Well, it is Friday, so that means my dear friend is coming back to do more scrapbooking today. I am hoping to finish the few pages I have left in this album once and for all today. Thanks for stopping by!

QKR Stampede ... Showers of Blessings

Hello there! Happy Thursday. I can honestly say I can't believe it is Thursday...seems like the week just started. Sadly this week has flown by, and I have had very little crafting time. I thought last week was crazy with school starting...well apparently I forgot about the second week being full of meetings, and first dance classes, and first gymnastics classes. UGGGG! Well, I did get to do some scrapbooking on Monday, and will be scrapping again on Friday. Maybe I will squeeze a card or two in there too. I did get a couple really cute LOs done though...so that is good. Maybe I will try to take a couple pictures of them and show you tomorrow. Well, today is the day I like to share some QKR Stampede with you. So here is my QKR Stampede card for today.Today I decided to use this adorable ragdoll angel. If you haven't looked at all the ragdoll and angel stamps in the QKR Stampede store, you need to! There are sooo many of them, and they are all so cute! The angel I used on my card today is called Watering Hearts. Isn't she cute!!!!! I stamped her and colored with colored pencils and Gamsol. I layered onto some PP from Cosmo Cricut. As you can see I pulled the colors from the PP to use on the angel. I hand wrote the sentiment "Showers of Blessings". For some reason this card make me think of that old Hymn I sang as a child...I remember the music director use to always sing it if it was raining...lol. Last, I added the ivory buttons. They kinda look like puffy clouds...well a little bit...lol. Well that is all for now. Thanks for stopping by!

Baby Boy

The other card I was able to get done today was another card my mom requested. She needs a card for a baby shower. So I decided to use this week's Cupcake Craft Challenge...which is a sketch! I also pulled out the sewing machine, which I haven't done in FOREVER, and added some sewing to this card...which is the challenge over at the Whimsie Doodles Blog this week. I just love this little giraffe for baby cards. He is a TAC image. I stamped him onto the baby blue CS with black ink. I cut that into a circle, and layered onto the polka dotted PP. I feel terrible, but I can't remember who the paper is from. I hate not giving credit to the right companies/people. I then sewed the PP onto the blue CS base. Last I added some embellishments.
I added some blue fun flock to the blanket. I added some blue stickles to the giraffe's spots and antlers, and some liquid pearl to the diaper. Well that is all for now. Thanks for stopping by. OH...and tomorrow I will be posting a QKR Stampede card I made over the weekend...so be sure to stop by!

Fall Trees

Ok...so I was able to sneak in a couple cards today, and I wanted to share them with you. The first card I am going to share is a fall card I made using this week's Sweet Stop Sketch. I recently bought some Autumn color Flower Soft, and I wanted to "experiment". Here is what I came up withI flipped the sketch provided on the Sweet Stop Blog for this. I started by stamping the trees image (which is a SU set I have had forever!). I used brown ink. I layered the stamped image onto some striped PP from Imaginisce's Apple Cider Collection. Next I layered those onto some brown CS, and a white CS base. I added some brown sheer ribbon, and a felt brown leaf. Last thing I did was add some of the Autumn Flower Soft.
Some of the trees I "filled" with "leaves", and others I made with less. I kinda wish there was a little green in with it, but oh well...lol. I have some mint green flower soft, but I didn't think that would go well with it. Well that is all for now. Thanks for stopping by!

Creative Belli Challenge #100!!!! - Anything that Begins with a "B"

Hello there, and happy Wednesday. I hope you are having a wonderful week. Last week was the start of school for my kids, now this week is the week of meetings. UGGGG...I feel like there is some sort of meeting for some thing everyday this week. I am so looking forward to the meeting to be over...lol. This weekend is going to be a busy one too. We are having a garage sale...it is time to clean out this house. I have so much stuff I never use, yet it is still in perfectly good condition. Hopefully I sell some of it on Saturday.
Well...onto the reason for this post...lol.
Today is a new challenge over at the Creative Belli Challenge...it is our 100th challenge actually! I just love the Belli Challenge, and am so excited to be a part of this very talented Design Team. In case you have never played along before, the whole idea behind the Creative Belli Challenge is to use things you already have. So grab those buttons from 2 years ago you HAD to have, or that ribbon that was on sale last year that you couldn't pass up, and USE IT! We are all guilty of "hoarding" our papers and embellishments, but if you are like me, you need to use up what you have before you can buy new (well at least you should...lol). So this week we are asking you to dig into the back of your "craft cave", as our Belli Girl Holly calls it, and pull out something that begins with "B". Let your imagination go to work...use buttons, brads, bows, brackets, bobby pins...lol...the possibilities are endless. Here is what I came up with.Buttons and Bows! My mom asked me to make a girly birthday card for my niece, so I thought this was perfect. I used a pink CS base, and added the cream squares. I used my Cricut to cut the little flowers from some PP from SEI's birthday papers. I added a little SEI "B"utton to the center of each. I then used some ribbon from SEI and tied a "B"ow with it. Last I added the "B"irthday stamp from SU. Well I hope you play along with us over at Creative Belli Challenge, don't forget to link up your "B" creation so we can see it. Thanks for stopping by!

PENGUINS!!!!

So the first time I saw these penguin stamps from Repeat Impressions, I HAD to have them! I just love them...they are so super cute! So when the Stamp Scrap Art Tour came to town, I had my money ready to stop at Wendy's booth and get the full sheet of these guys. So today I wanted to show you a card I made using this week's What If? Wednesday Sketch from the Repeat Impressions blog. See...I told you the penguins were cute! I started by stamping the bigger image with the ornament. I stamped him off, and colored his beak and feet, and then added some crystal effects to the globe. Oh, and some stickles to the "hook" thingy (technical term). I trimmed it down, and layered onto some striped PP. I decided to stick with all black and white for this card. The PP are from the Glitter stack from DCWV. I layered the penguin onto the star and circle PP. The ribbon is some stretchy silver ribbon I had in my stash. For the little diamonds, I cut a black one that is slightly larger then the white ones. I stamped the little penguin using black ink on the white diamonds, and white ink on the black diamond. I also ink distressed the edges of the black diamond. I used the same silver ribbon for behind the diamonds. I really liked the way it turned out with so little color on the card. OH...I forgot...I couldn't get the orange marker to show up on the black, so I used orange stickles instead.

Ok I think that is all for now! Thanks for stopping by! Have a great weekend!

Somethings Brewing!!!! QKR Stampede Blog Hop!

Hello!!! Welcome Welcome! I am so glad you are hopping along with us today! Today is the QKR Stampede Design Team Blog Hop! We are featuring fall and Halloween images today from the awesome QKR Stampede stamp line. Now...first order of business...if you are starting here on my blog, you need to head on over to the QKR Stampede Blog, and start from there. Trust me you won't regret taking the time to do that. If you arrived here from...
...then you are right on track!

So now...onto my creations. I have 2 for you today. I just loved the choices of Halloween images in the QKR Stampede Store. So many adorable fall images too. I decided to go with some Halloween stamps for this hop. My first project is a card. I just LOVED this little bat image he caught my eyes right away. You can find him HERE , and his name is Blind Bat.
I stamped him off and colored him with water color crayons. I find that when an image is "meant" to be black, I like to either use colored pencils or water color crayons. It also helps to see all the details on his wings too. I made his little glasses orange because of the whole orange being a Halloween color. I "fussy cut" him and layered onto a black CS diamond. The PP is from SEI, and I had to get it when I saw it, because I thought it would go so well with this stamp! For the sentiment, I hand wrote with white gel pen onto black CS, and layered the pieces of black onto the crazy lined PP. The black and white "crazy lines" paper is actually the reverse side of the bat PP. I thought it looked neat because it brought out the lines in the back of the bats too. It is hard to see from the photo, but there are green crazy lines on the bat paper too. Here is my second project for this hop. This adorable little witch is called Riding. I colored her with colored pencils and Gamsol (my latest favorite thing EVER...lol). I used a sizzix pillow box die, and cut out the pillow box. I "fussy cut" the little witch out and layered her onto the pillow box front. I added some yellow stickles to be stars. I thought this might be a cute classroom gift for Halloween treats...of course that would mean I have to mass produce 50 of them...lol. So...not positive if I am going to go with this yet. LOL. I really liked this image though because it is very cute...she isn't a scary looking witch at all. As a matter of fact, pretty much all the Halloween images in the QKR Stampede store are cute and not scary looking. As a mom of little ones, I like that a lot!

Well that is all I got for you. Don't forget to leave comments as you hop along...there is a PRIZE involved in our hop today! You will need to be sure to leave a comment on each DT lady's blog, as well as the QKR Stampede Blog. Now...I am going to send you off on a broomstick to

JERUSHA'S BLOG!!!!

If at any point during the hop (flight), you get lost, just head on back to the QKR Stampede Blog and find your next stop. Thanks so much for flying by!!!! Have a SPOOK-tacular day!

QKR Stampede Thursday!!!!

Hi there! Hope you are having a wonderful week. We are officially back to school here, which means back to EVERYTHING and welcome back crazy mom (that is me...lol). Not only did school start this week, but dance, gymnastics, girl scouts, etc... Plus, I am volunteering this year to be a cafeteria monitor, so EVERY Tuesday my little one and I head off to have "lunch with the big kids". I think it will be a nice experience, and a great way for me to get to know the kids at our new school better. Well, since things are a bit crazy busy, I did plan a couple of my posts this week early...to save me some time this week. This is one of them...lol. Since I had the card ready, I thought I would get the post ready. I wanted to share a card with you that I made using some paper piecing and the lovely QKR Stampede image called Flower Bouquet. I actually made this card to submit to a magazine, but obviously since I am sharing it, I was NOT chosen this time. =( I started with a white CS base, and layered this flower PP from SEI onto that. I used some ribbon from my stash along the bottom too. Next, I colored the image using the same colors in the PP, and paper pieced the leaves and flower centers onto the stamped image. I cut the image into an oval shape, and layered onto a yellow-orange oval. The sentiment is also from QKR Stampede, and is called Just a Note. I stamped it and cut it into an oval shape. I even decorated the inside of this card...which I very rarely do. I used a couple of the flowers from the PP for the inside.

NOW onto some business...lol. Tomorrow is the QKR Stampede DT Sept. blog hop. Please join us for the last hop with the current Design Team. We will be featuring some of the fabulous Fall and Halloween images from the QKR Stampede store. Now as we have done in the past, our blog hop will start at the QKR Stampede Blog HERE. From there, you will be able to hop along to each talented DT ladies blog to see her wonderful creations. Hope to see you there!

Pink Poppies

Here is my 2nd project I made today. I really wanted to play along with this week's Sweet Stop Sketch. I thought it was such a nice one this week...although they are all usually nice, but this one really looked fun. So I pulled out my clear stamp set called Poppies and Clear Greetings from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, and got to work.
I started by stamping the image onto kraft CS, and coloring with colored pencils and Gamsol. I trimmed it down, and began layering papers. The pink background paper and the striped paper are both PPs from the TAC set More Moxie. I added some cream colored lace from SU, and a little green flower. I used a pink gem for the flower center. I used the "praying for you" sentiment from the same stamp set. All are layered onto a kraft CS base. Thanks for stopping by!

My Vintage Attempt

Ok...so I really really wanted to play along with the Let's Ink It Up challenge this time, BUT you have to make a bookmark or tag with a VINTAGE twist. Ok...first let me say...if you have ever seen anything on my blog, you know vintage is not my thing...lol. I really like bright clean crisp looks, so this was a tough one for me. I decided to give it a shot and play along with the Let's Ink It Up Challenge #2. So...whenever anyone says vintage the first thing that comes to my mind is Tim Holtz. Well, not him but his products....lol. Well, last year I won a Tim Holtz stamp set, and have used it maybe once, and that was only for the heart in the set. So I decided to pull it out for this one. I decided to make a tag, but it could be used as a bookmark too. I started by using 2 different colors of chalk inks from SEI to ink distress the tag. Next, I stamped the heart in a deep red ink color. Then I stamped the sentiment in Versamark, and heat embossed it with copper embossing powder. Last, I added 5 different ribbon scraps to the tag hole. I tied each of them into knots, and trimmed the ends of the ribbon so they weren't too long. Well, hopefully it looks vintage...lol. I tried...lol. Thanks for stopping by!

Wild Thing!!!!

Hi there! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend....well if you celebrated a holiday weekend...lol. We didn't do any big events...well unless shoe shopping counts. My girls all needed some sort of new shoes. So off we went to get ballet shoes, dress shoes, sneakers, and "fancy shoes" as my little one calls them. The good news is our trip to the shoe store was a success, and everyone has footwear that fits now.
Well, I don't know how much time I will get to create this week with school starting, but I was able to sneak down and make a quick card tonight. I made this card for 2 different challenges. First I used this week's Mojo Monday Sketch. I really liked the sketch this week. It was a fun one. I also combined this with this week's Cupcake Craft Challenge. Which is "Books and Stories"...your card/project is supposed to be inspired by a book or story. Well here is what I came up with.I have had this stamp FOREVER! I just love Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak. When I was in college, I actually got to meet Mr. Sendak in person! It was such an awesome experience for me. I have always loved children's literature, so to meet one of the best author/illustrators was great! He even autographed my copy of Where the Wild Things Are! Well anyway...I decided to use that book as my inspiration, since I happen to have the stamps too. I actually have 3 of the "wild things" stamps, but have always loved this guy. I stamped him and colored with colored pencils. I trimmed the image into a circle, and layered onto a green CS circle. The PP and colored CS are all from the same paper set. It is from one of the All in One kits from Creative Keepsakes. I thought the leaves PP was perfect. The twill ribbon is from TAC. For the tag, I layered some scrap pieces from the colored CS pieces onto the chipboard tag and trimmed it down. I hand wrote "Wild Thing", and tied a knot with the twill ribbon. I thought this would make a cute birthday card, and would be fun to write something about a wild rumpus.

Well that is all for now. Don't forget to stop by on Friday for the QKR Stampede Fall/Halloween Blog hop!

You're My Main...

Hi there! Happy Saturday! Hard to believe that school starts this coming week here. I am SOOOO not in the correct sleeping schedule for this...lol. Well today I wanted to share a card I made for the first challenge of a BRAND NEW challenge blog. The blog is called The Fuzzy Wuzzy Challenges. As you can tell from the title of the blog...the idea is to use fuzzy wuzzy things on your cards...so animals. Well the first challenge is a color challenge, and don't forget...it has to have an animal. The colors are green, pink, chocolate, and kraft. Here is my card
I used this adorable little Moon Cheese image from QKR Stampede. I stamped him and embossed in silver onto kraft CS. I colored him with marker, and trimmed it down. I layered him onto some pink CS, and layered the pink onto a kraft CS base. I added some "chocolate" twill ribbon, and some green heat seat stars. For the sentiment, I hand wrote "You're my main..." on the front, and for the inside..."CHEESE!" Well that is all for now! Have a great weekend!

Natalie's Challenge Card

Here is my daughter Natalie's card for the following challenges.

Kona Kid Krafters - Back to School and/or buttons
She used this adorable image from QKR Stampede, and colored with markers. She trimmed it down herself. She picked a violet blue CS for the base, and we layered this PP onto it. The PP is from a collection I picked up at CKC convention. She added the little chipboard photo corner tab thingys (that is a technical term...lol) to the corners with some brads. Then she picked the ribbon herself too.

Morgan's Challenge Card

Here is my daughter Morgan's card for the following Challenges.

Kona Kid Krafters - Back to School and/or buttons
She used this Riley Moose image from Hannah Stamps. She colored using colored pencils and I showed her how to use Gamsol. (Both my older girls were fascinated by it like me...lol) She used some PP from a set of papers I picked up at the CKC convention. The chipboard piece is also from that set, and she hand wrote the saying on it. I helped her use the "notebook" punch along the boarder, and we added some buttons to look like the holes in notebook paper.

Christmas Carolers

Ok...earlier today I showed you the card I was trying to make for a challenge. This week's Simon Says Challenge is to use pearls and lace. Well the card I made first had the pearls, but I forgot the lace...lol. So...here is the card with pearls AND lace. I used this gorgeous digi image from Sweet 'n Sassy, it was a freebie during a DT chat one night. I printed it out, and colored with colored pencils. I trimmed it down, and layered onto the green PP. All the PP on this card are from SU, and are retired Christmas papers. I used a corner rounder on each square also. Next I added the cream lace, and some cream pearl brads. The last embellishment I added was some liquid applique to the one girl's hat. OH...almost forgot...I ink distressed the edges of the digi image, and the base. That is all! Thanks for stopping by!

Cocoa Cupcake

I wanted to share this card I made for my friend's daughter's birthday. I was going to make for a challenge, but realized the challenge is pearls AND lace...forgot the lace...lol. Guess I will just have to make another one. Well here is the card I DID make. I used this adorable Cocoa Mouse with the cupcake image from Sweet 'n Sassy. I colored it with colored pencils and Gamsol (can you tell I like this stuff? lol). I trimmed it down and layered it onto a polka dotted PP square, and layered that onto the cupcake PP. Both PPs are from SEI. Next I added the sentiment which is from QKR Stampede and is called Happy Birthday. Last, I added some i-Rock pearls. (see added the pearls...forgot the lace...lol) I put them in using one of the i-Rock templates. Overall I thought it came out very cute. I hope she likes it!

Have a....

Hi there. It is Thursday, which means today is the day I share some QKR Stampede images with you. Today I decided to share the Med. Moose stamp with you. I specifically say medium, because this adorable guy actually comes in 3 sizes! I really liked this guy because he could be used for a few different purposes. He has a bandage on his antler, so could be a good well card, but he also has this expression on his face that could go so many different ways. He almost looks like his is singing, or just saying "DUH"! Today I used him as just a "hello" type card. Here is it.This card is smaller then I usually make. It could even be a good size for a gift enclosure card. Ok...do you see what I mean about the moose? I colored this guy with colored pencils and gamasol. I tried gamasol for the first time this past weekend, and HAD to have it. I love the effect it gives, and the fact that I didn't have to buy new colored pencils to use it! I layered him onto some checkered pieces of PP. The sentiment is actually a QKR Stampede image that I cut up, and used part on the outside, and the rest on the inside. The image is called Wonderful Day. Last, I added this little embellishment to the bottom corner. Now...I will be honest about my embellishment...lol. Looks like a simple ribbon bow with a large eyelet. WRONG...lol. I like to call this baby..."I really really messed up so I had to improvise" embellishment. So...I wanted to put 3 small eyelets along the bottom. I punched the first two holes all nice and lined up, then the 3rd...well...NOT lined up...lol. So...I grabbed the big eyelet, and "fixed" it. I used the 2 smaller ones along the outside as ribbon threading holes, and added the bow. I suppose I could have said nothing, but I thought it was kinda funny. The hard part about eyelets is once the hole is there, you have no choice...lol. So...I "fixed" it, and all is good.
One last thing...just wanted to let you know that we have one last blog hop featuring the current QKR Stampede Design Team coming up. NEXT FRIDAY 9/10. So...be sure to join us, we will be featuring some of the awesome fall and Halloween images this time. See you then!

S'mores Christmas

If you are here for today's Creative Belli Challenge please go HERE.

Today Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps is celebrating 10 new stamp set releases. Well, the DT ladies did a blog hop, and part of it included a few challenges "hidden" along the hop. I wanted to share a card with you I made for 2 of those 3 challenges. First I used the sketch from
Janette's Blog, and I also made this a non-traditional color Christmas card...which was the challenge from Chrissy's Blog. Here is the card I made.Unfortunately, I don't have any of the awesome new releases from Sweet 'n Sassy yet, so I used this image that I picked up from Inky Antics at the Stamp Scrap Art Tour this past weekend. I just feel in love with this adorable little s'more set when I saw it. I had picked up PP a few weeks back at my LCS. I thought it would look cute on a scrapbook page, since we do a LOT of s'more making at our property. I added the gingham ribbon, and used a SU boarder punch for the scallops on brown CS. The sentiment is also from the same Inky Antics set. I used my colored pencils and Gamsol to color the s'more. I would say this is a bit non-traditional...lol. Thanks for stopping by!

Creative Belli Challenge # 99 - Old Stamp

So first I want to say...HAPPY SEPTEMBER! Can't believe it is September already! I remember as a kid time seemed to move so slow, and my parents used to say "No it doesn't". Well, I get that now. Before you know it, we will be saying Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year. Well...I will try to focus on today...lol.
Today is Wednesday...which means it is Creative Belli Challenge day. It was so nice to see so many people played along with our last challenge. I hope you will join us again this time. Since we are all about using stuff we have, or haven't touched in forever, today our theme is to use an old stamp. Now...I wasn't sure how old to go with this one...since I do have some stamps that are probably 15 years old now. So, I went and dug through my drawer of "old stamps", and came out with a gumball machine stamp...that I can honestly say I don't think I have EVER used. Next, I reached in again to find something to put inside the gumball machine. So...out came a little Hero Arts Candy Corn stamp that has been collecting dust. I have had the gumball machine for so long, I don't even know who made it. I think I picked it up at a show about 12-15 years ago...lol. So I everything stamped and put together, and I can honestly say...I wasn't happy with it. My mom and my DH really liked it though, and with being so sick this past weekend, I couldn't make it back down to my craft room to try again. I did start another card, but didn't get to finish it, so here is the gumball machine card. So, I stamped the gumball machine, and colored it with markers. For the "filling", I first stamped the part that would be filled with candy onto another piece of white CS. I also stamped it onto some acetate, so it would look like it is colored in glass.
After stamping the candy corn image, using some masking technique to do it, I layered it all together to look like the machine was filled with candy corn. Next, I layered it onto this candy corn PP that I believe was a from a set I bought at the Target $1 spot a while back. Last, I decided to add a Halloween sentiment, which is from a TAC set I have had for about a year. I stamped the sentiment onto some yellowish orange CS, and trimmed it to fit. Everything was layered onto a white CS base. Well, that is all for now. Don't forget to head on over to the Creative Belli Challenge Blog, and check out what the rest of the Belli Girls put together for you to see. AND...we would love for you to play along with us. So...dig into the back of that stamp drawer or shelf, grab out an old stamp, and play along with us. Don't forget to link your project to the bottom of the Creative Belli Challenge 99 post so we can see what you came up with!
