My Other Sweet 'n Sassy Cards

Here are the other cards I made for the Release Party Challenges for Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.
This challenge was to use yellow and green on your card. I used the June Rose stamp, and colored it with watercolor crayons. I trimmed it, and used a stipple brush around the edges, and lightly on top of it. For the BG, I ran some green Co-ordination CS through the cuttlebug with this flower embossing folder from SU. I then sanded the embossed flowers, and stippled yellow over the top of it. I added some yellow ribbon, and stamped the sentiment in black (which is from the April Daisy set). Oh, I also stippled around the edges with yellow.

My 2nd card was for a Bonus challenge. Korin gave us a great freebie for "attending" the release party. She then challenged us to use it on a card. Well I went totally out of my element with this one, and went vintage. Here is what I came up with.
I printed this adorable digi Santa, and colored him with colored pencils. I added some liquid applique to him for "fur". I then layered him on some various Christmas PP from SU. I also ink distressed each paper with some brown chalk ink from SEI. The sentiment is from TAC, and the buttons are from my button stash.

How Sweet

Today I spent a couple hours in my stamp room. It was very nice! I was creating a few cards for the Sweet 'n Sassy release party challenges last night. Well, I wanted to first share this one with you, as I was also able to use it for this week's Simon Says Challenge...which is "Check it out!". They would like us to use plaid, gingham, checks, etc., on our cards. Well here is mine.I used this adorable Cocoa Mouse image from Sweet 'n Sassy. I stamped him and colored him with water color crayons. I then added some brown distressing ink all around him. I layered it onto some checkered PP from Papertrey Ink. I then decided to retry that folded ribbon I so nicely made last week, and it ended up not showing at all...ha ha. Well during the Sweet 'n Sassy release party last night, I learned a much easier way to make this ribbon too. It turned out great...well at least I thought it did...lol. Last, I added the sentiment "How Sweet" which is from the same stamp set as Cocoa.

Well dinner time...I will be back in a bit to share the other cards I made for the challenges. Thanks for stopping by!

Anniversary "I Woof You"

So tomorrow is my anniversary. Hard to believe that 9 years ago today I was completely starting to panic...lol. I remember balling my eyes out during the rehearsal dinner while trying to pass out gifts to my wedding party. Thankfully I had written the speeches out so my hubby could take over when I couldn't do it anymore. I thought I would make my DH a card for our anniversary. I decided to use this week's Sweet Stop Sketch as my layout, and I used one of the new clear stamp set releases from Sweet 'n Sassy called "Woof You".Sorry the photo is a little dark...I tried to lighten it, and it just got washed out. Well I stamped the doggy on kraft CS, and colored him with colored pencils. I paper pieced his scarf with the same DP that I used for the layering. I used a kraft CS base, and layered some green onto that. I used a SU boarder punch for the scallops on blue CS. I layered a strip of kraft onto that and some paw print ribbon I had onto that. I stamped the sentiment onto the green CS. Last, I used my i-Top to make a brad. I used the same blue CS as the scallop boarder, and stamped the paw prints onto it.
That is all for now. I made another card last night that I will show you on QKR Stampede Thursday. Hoping to hit the craft room again tonight to work on some scrapbooking.

Congrats on the Engagement

Well we got some good news this past weekend. My sis-in-law got engaged! Her and her fiance have been together for 6 years, so we know him very well, and we are very excited for them. My girls are also very excited since this means they get to be in another wedding. Well I wanted to make a cute little card for her to congratulate her on the engagement. I decided to use the sketch from my LSS's blog (Buffalo Stamps and Stuff). The just started posting sketch challenges, which I just love sketch challenges...lol. They also have other challenges on Mondays that are more of technique challenges. I don't always get to play along, but I do like to see the ideas and what can be done with them. Well here is my card using the sketch from Friday.
I purchased the daisy PP to use for a gift back in April. I liked it so much I bought 2 sheets of it. I stamped the sentiment from a SU set with green ink to go with the center of the daisies. The bottom squares are images from another SU set. I stamped with pink ink, and colored them in using the aqua painter and the same ink pad. I also colored the center green with the aqua painter. I used my cricut to cut the "congrats" out of the same PP. Well that is it...very simple! Now...I need to start thinking of wedding invite ideas...she wants me to make them! I am sooooo excited. I have a couple ideas, but need to start putting together a few to show her. Any ideas from you guys are greatly appreciated! I am thinking vellum and ribbon and flourishes. Just gotta put it all together now. As I come up with ideas I will probably be sharing with you, and asking for thoughts. Thanks so much!

My Prize has Arrived!

Ok...so back in May I went to the CKC Convention here in Buffalo. I actually volunteered at it...which was a blast...and I highly recommend doing it if they come to your town. Well, I also had a chance to walk around the vendor fare and shop. So I put my name in a couple of the give-away boxes...like I will ever win anyway...well I DID! I won something. I mean really what are the chances????!!!!! There had to have been over 1000-2000 people that were in and out over the weekend....and I WON! I won a $100 shopping spree from SEI Paper Company! So...this didn't take me more then one night to spend...lol....more like 1/2 hour...only because I had to be sure I made the right choices. So it came Wednesday...that was super fast shipping too...highly recommend their online store. Ok...I wanted to show you all the goodies I got. The pictures aren't the greatest...I think my hands were shaking with excitement...lol. But here they are.
Ok...so there it is. Now...TIME TO PLAY!

Tea for Two

Hi there. What a strange couple days it has been here in WNY. The weather has been very off lately. It is super sunny the one minute, and seriously the very next it is a torrential down pour. Then yesterday the earthquake in Canada was apparently felt all over our area as well...although I didn't feel a thing...lol. Tornado warnings, etc...just crazy. I guess it just makes the day more adventurous...ha ha.
Well today during the down pour, I decided to work on a card for a challenge. I used this week's Mojo Monday Sketch, and also did the Simon Says Challenge which is You Gotta Have Friends. Here is what I came up with. I used this image I stamped off at a friend's house about a year ago. I THINK it is from High Hopes, but I am not positive. I colored it with twinkling H2Os and water color crayons.
I cut it out, and layered it onto some pink CS. I then layered that onto purple CS, and mounted that with foam tape. Now...the ribbon...well I spent like 10 minutes making this fancy folded ribbon only for it to not show at all...lol. It was the first time I had ever done it, and I was kinda proud of how it turned out for the first time, but...I guess it was more of a waste of time...ha ha. I made my own PP using some teal blue CS, and stamping a teapot and teacup in white ink. Hard to see, but I tried to get a close up for you.
It looks neat in person at least. I added 3 teacup brads, and the sentiment is from a Papertrey set. I mounted that with foam tape also.

Well that is it for now. Thanks for looking!

QKR Day

HAPPY THURSDAY!!! Well school is officially done here. Yesterday was my oldest DD's last day. Hard to believe she will be a 3rd grader in the fall. Sadly though, this also means the end to a great school forever. After 111 years, the school we have been a part of, is closed the doors for good. It has been an emotional couple months since finding out this was going to happen, but I truly believe that GOD has a bigger and better plan for each and every one of the families from St. Paul's School. Alright...I need to stop dwelling on sadness, and think of the bright future GOD has ahead for us!
Onto my card...As always, Thursday is my QKR Stampede spotlight day. I just love these stamps for sure...and there is some great new stuff coming up for this company in the near future too...be on a look out for some cool news! Since today is also my day to post on the DT blog, I am only going to give you a glimpse of my card here. I want you to head on over to the QKR Stampede DT Blog to see the rest...and not only to see the rest of my card, but to see all the awesome projects the DT girls have been posting pretty much daily for you. I know...I am so mean...lol. Well here is a part of my card for today.

Would you look at this adorable ant! I just love the whole line of ant stamps found in the QKR Stampede store. Ok...now...head on over to the QKR Stampede Blog to see the rest of the card, and all the details about it. Thanks for stopping by!

Ash's Bookmark

Ok...time for my youngest daughter's creation. She originally colored a flip flop digi image...and well...she went a little crazy with the markers, and you couldn't see the image at all...lol. So, we tried this one instead. I helped her a little with the pattern and cutting the papers and such. She made this bookmark for the Kona Kid Krafter's challenge (Red/White/ & Blue), and the Children's Challenge Corner (flowers).

We thought the bookworm would be super cute as a bookmark. The image is from High Hopes Stamps. She colored with marker, and we added some crystal effects to the glasses. The flower PP is from TAC, she really wanted purple on the there somewhere (that is her favorite color). We added some purple CS to the top, and a red ribbon. Thanks for checking out her creation. The girls just love playing in my stamproom!

Natalie's USA Card

My middle daughter wanted to share the card she worked on for the Kona Kid Krafter's Challenge and the Children's Challenge Corner. The Kona Kid's challenge this time around is July 4th, or Red, White, and Blue. The Children's Corner this time is flowers. She was able to get both in this card.
She used this adorable digi image from Whimsie Doodles called Flowers for Leah. She colored with marker, and wanted to add LOTS of glitter...lol. I think she almost used an entire bottle of stickles...ha ha. She also wanted some brads, and wanted it to say USA. Not too bad for a 5 year old! Thanks for looking, and if you get a chance...feel free to leave a comment. My girls pride themselves on getting more comments then mom...lol.

Creative Belli Challenge #94

Happy Wednesday day....it is Creative Belli Wednesday too. Today our challenge for you is a double challenge. We have a sketch for you, and we put a little twist on it...make it patriotic. I cant' believe it is almost July 4th! Time has just flown lately...before I know it I will be sending my baby off to camp for a week too! Well back to the challenge. Here is the sketch...I will honestly say I struggled with this one a bit. Mostly I struggled with the whole patriotic thing. For some reason red, white, and blue together just doesn't appeal to my eye...lol. I am more a pinks and purples kinda girl. Well I started by making a card, and wasn't overly thrilled with it. It turned out good, but just seemed like it was missing something to me. Then it hit me that this sketch would make an awesome scrapbook LO. So...I did that too...lol. I thought I would share both with you though. Here is the card...In the spirit of the Creative Belli Challenge, I used only stuff I had in the craft room already. I used this blue PP that I have had for a while as my background. I used my Stand and Salute Cricut cartridge that I have NEVER used...lol, for the flag. (I got the cartridge with my Cricut package deal when I bought it.) I added some white liquid pearl for "stars". I cut the little squares in red, and layered white on top of that. I used an alphabet stamp set from TAC that I haven't touched in a while for the USA. Now...like I said for some reason, this card just didn't appeal to me. SO I came up with this...Like I said...this sketch really looked like a page LO to me. Sorry there are no pictures yet...lol. Since 4th of July hasn't happened yet this year, I couldn't get them. And for some reason I don't have any from last year to use temporarily either. But, you get the idea...lol. Everything on this page is papers I have had laying around the craft room. I used my Cricut Stand and Salute cartridge to cut the fireworks and the saying. For the fireworks, I used some glitter paper I have had FOREVER...but hoarded it...lol. Here is a close up of the fireworks.I would like to place a photo of each of my girls from our 4th of July party this year on this page. I really like the way it turned out...even if they aren't my pinks and purples...lol.

Well, now head on over to the Creative Belli Challenge Blog, and check out what all the other Belli girls came up with. Don't forget to play along with us. We love to see your versions of the sketch and challenge too. Just add a link to your creation to mr. linky on the bottom of Challenge 94 so we can hop over to see what you came up with. Have a great day!

Ice Cream Cow...

Hi there. Hope you all enjoyed the first official day of summer...well at least here in NY it was ...lol. What a gorgeous day too. We spent most of our day outside, and ended with a good old fashion family bike ride. Well, I wanted to cool off, so I headed down to the stamp room to make a card. I made this for 3 different challenges. This week's Cupcake Craft Challenge is "Strawberries & Cream", and they left it up to us to translate that. Well I decided to use it as a color challenge. I also decided to "combine" 2 sketch challenges. This week's Sweet Stop Sketch was almost the same as a sketch challenge that was posted on my LSS's blog(Buffalo Stamps and Stuff). There are a few differences, like the scallops on the Sweet Stop Sketch, and the embellishments around the oval on the LSS's sketch, but I thought it would be fun to try to combine them. So...here is what I came up with.

This week's Sweet Stop Sketch also includes a twist...which is to decorate the inside of your card. Well I usually don't do that, but I thought it would be fun to play along with the twist, and here it is.So...just a little info about the card. I used all pinks and cream as my colors for this. I stamped the cow image (from TAC) with pink ink. I used some pink CS scraps and added the cow spots to them (image also from the TAC set). I used a scalloped eyelet punch from SU on a lighter shade of pink. The sentiment is from QKR Stampede. Last I added some pearlized pink and cream brads, and some liquid pearl to the ice cream, bow, and tongue. For the inside, I used some strips of CS that I trimmed off the front pieces, and added a pink ice cream cone from another TAC set.

Well I think I covered it all...lol. Have a great day!

My Nephew's Birthday gift

Ok...as promised...I wanted to share a few of the completed pages for the album I am making for my nephew's 1st birthday. They aren't the greatest because my camera has been acting up. Which just stinks because today was the dance recital, and I didn't get super good pictures of that either...ugggg. And of course there was Brad Paisley and Darius Rucker last night that I didn't get the greatest pictures of either...although I got some...lol. What a show that was! My hubby and I had an awesome time. The concert was kinda our way of celebrating our upcoming anniversary at the end of the month...since the tickets were free that made it even better! Ok...well onto the album. I found these velum ABC's of baby's first year at the CKC convention back in May here in Buffalo. I have a lot more pages done then I thought I would at this point. I need to get a couple PP's for certain pages still, but seeing as how his b-day isn't until November, I think I am doing pretty good...lol. Ok...well here are some of the pages. I won't go into detail about any of them, but if you see something you want to know what I used, please feel free to leave me a comment, and I will comment back to you on this post. THANKS! Hope you all have a fabulous father's day tomorrow.

Just a quick hi...

I just thought I would drop in and say hi. I don't know how much crafting I will get done this weekend...since it is a busy one! We have Pre-K graduation today, then tonight my hubby and I are going to see Brad Paisley! I am soooo excited. I haven't been to a concert in over 10 years. I won the tickets from my local radio station, only reason we are going...lol. Then tomorrow is the dance recital for my 2 youngest DDs. Sunday is Father's day, and we are off to the local baseball team to watch the game with the grandpas...then crazy me said...wouldn't it be nice to all come back here and have a cook-out?! lol. Oh well...not sure how much crafting I will get in as a result, but I have been busy busy when I can. I have been working hard on my nephew's 1st year album. I will post a few pictures later for you. They aren't the "greatest" layouts, but I am pretty excited about them. Very simple, so my SIL can simply add the photos...she doesn't have all the fancy scrap booking tools, but I know she LOVES photos. Ok...last piece of exciting news! Back in May I went to the CKC Convention here in Buffalo. Well, yesterday I got an e-mail saying I was chosen as one of the winners from the SEI booth! Seriously!!!! I won a $100.00 gift certificate to their online store! REALLY what are the chances???!!!! So I went on a shopping spree last night. Oh soooo fun! Ok...well I am off to Pre-K graduation!
Oh, and a pretty photo to share with you of a tiger lily from my garden.

QKR DAY!!!

Hi there. I hope you all had a chance to play along with our DT Blog hop last week. Wasn't all the cards great? These ladies are so talented. I also hope you took the time to comment on each DT member's blog for a chance to win a $25 shopping spree! The winner will be/is posted HERE. Now, onto my card for this week. The end of the school year is almost here for my girls. What a ride it has been this year. Talk about roller coaster of emotions! The girls are looking forward to their new school next year, but they are sad to say goodbye to the fabulous staff members at our current school. I am room mom for the 2nd grade class, so I collected money to purchase a GC, and made the apple album I posted previously. It turned out adorable with all the kids' pictures and comments. Well I thought it would be nice to have a cute card to put the GC in. Here is what I came up with.

I used this adorable turtle stamp from QKR Stampede called In Love. I colored him with colored pencils, and trimmed him down. I layered him onto some solid green CS, and layered that onto some green and white PP. I added some green twill ribbon, and 3 green flower brads. WOW that is a lot of green...lol. I stamped the sentiment with staz-on ink onto the ribbon.

Thanks for stopping by!!!!

Morgan's tri-challenge Card

My oldest daughter (Morgan) was so excited today to see that she made the top 3 at Kona Kid Krafter's 1st challenge. She has been telling everyone all day! She was so excited that she couldn't wait to get started on the new challenge that was posted today. She also decided to use this card for 2 other challenges too! Not bad for a 7 year old...1 card-3 challenges. Well here is her card.
She is using this card for:
Kona Kid Krafter's Challenge #2:July 4th/and or Red White & Blue (the colors and theme)
Little Hands Do Craft Challenge #7 : Bling it Up (she used stickles/glitter)
Children's Challenge Corner #6: Use Flowers on your card (she used a couple silk flowers)

Thanks so much for looking at her card. She loves to know people are seeing her projects that she worked so hard on!

Fishing Birthday

Hi there. Sorry I have been MIA for a few days. What a weekend, and this coming one will be even MORE busy! I did however do some scrap booking this past weekend. I am so slow at it...lol. This weekend I am not sure what I will get to. It is dance recital weekend. Which means the whole week is pictures, rehearsal, etc. Plus my middle DD is graduating from PreK on Friday, and my hubby and I are going on a date to a concert. I am so looking forward to the non-scheduled life of summer.
Well today I wanted to share a card I made last night for a couple different challenges. I started with this weeks sketch challenge from The Sweet Stop. I then made this into a "manly" or boy card which is the challenge over at the Cupcake Craft Challenge this week.

I used this boy fishing image from TAC, and colored it with colored pencils. Like I mentioned before, I am trying NOT to buy stuff, but to use up what I have. So...I used some PP's from my 7 year old stack. I layered the blue onto a white base, and added the green PP to that. The buttons are from "The button tin". If you have never heard the button tin story...long story short, most of the buttons are older than me...lol. I "inherited" these buttons from my mom when she moved a couple years ago. I figured it would be a great way to use them up too. I used a white gel pen to make it look like there is thread on them. There is actually 2 ribbons on this card too. I layered some cream ribbon onto some brown sheer ribbon. Ok, I think that is all the details...lol. I am a little scatterbrained this week.

Oh, one last thing. I am so excited, my oldest DD's card made it into the top 3 over at Kona Kid's Krafters this week! I am so proud of her!!! I can't wait to show her when she gets home from school.

QKR Stampede June Blog Hop

Hello there hoppers! Welcome to our June Design Team Blog hop! If you arrived here from Barb's Blog then you are right on track...if you started here, please hop on back to the QKR Stampede Blog, and start from the top...trust me you won't want to miss any of the great projects the DT had made for you to see. A few things to remember, if at any point during the hop you get "lost", just head on back to the QKR Blog and see where you left off. Hopefully we have gotten any kinks worked out for you, but you never know what the Internet is going to do...lol.
Well, as you have already seen, our theme this month is Picnic/Patriotic Cards or projects. Haven't the projects so far been great? The DT ladies are all so talented! I have made a 4th of July card for you today. Although I have never sent a 4th of July card, I figure it would be fun...lol. Here is what I came up with.
Aren't these ants so cute???!!! I used two different ant stamps for this card. There are a lot of cute little ant stamps in the QKR Store too. As soon as I saw these 2 stamps, this idea came to my head. I stamped the images and colored them with watercolor crayons. I then trimmed them down...which was very detailed cutting...ha ha. I used a white CS base, and layered a piece of light blue to be the sky. Then I used some shredder scissors to make grass. I bought these scissors from AVON a while back and have never used them...but I bought them thinking they would make great grass. Next I layered the first ant (Match Stick) on the front of the grass. Then I put the other ant image (Fire Cracker) behind the grass...so he looks like he is walking away. I added a little sponged sun to the corner. I punched out the conversation balloons, and hand wrote on them. I thought what they are saying was funny...lol. The firecrackers remind me of 4th of July. We hear them going off all the time during the week of the 4th..and then some...ha ha. I figure ants are always assumed picnic guests too. The little ant brads I picked up the other day at my LSS. Here is the inside of the card.Well that is all from me today. I will send you off to your next stop on the hop now. Please don't forget to leave comments on each DT Ladies Blog also. We love comments & if you leave comments on all our blogs as well as the DT Blog there is an awesome prize! All details to win the prize can be found on the QKR Stampede Blog!

Now head on over to see what SARAH has in store for you. Thanks for stopping by!

QKR Thursday-Father's Day

Hello there...and happy Thursday. Today I have a very CAS QKR Stampede card for you. Since tomorrow is our June Blog Hop, I wanted to make today's card simple. See the bottom of this post for more Blog Hop details.
The other day I posted the father's day cards my girls made, so today I thought I would share the card I made for my hubby.

I recently learned how to make these folded shirts. I have seen them before, and think they are just adorable. If you wanted to try them I found THIS tutorial by Maria when I did a google search. I used a piece of SU PP that I have had laying around...this works best with double sided PP. I layered the shirt onto some yellow CS, and a green CS base. I used some twill ribbon to make a tie, and added a little yellowish button to the bottom of the shirt. The twill tie reminds me of the ties my brothers used to wear when I was growing up...lol. I stamped the sentiment onto cream CS with Mellow Moss ink. The sentiment is from the QKR Stampede Set called Happy Birthday. It comes with 4 sentiments...happy birthday, happy anniversary, happy mother's day, and happy father's day. Like I said...simple, but cute!

NOW...Blog Hop...tomorrow 6/11 will be our June Blog Hop for QKR Stampede. You will want to start HERE at the QKR Stampede Blog. When you arrive there, you will find the complete list of the DT Ladies Blogs in order of the hop. Our theme this month is Picnic/Patriotic cards. This should be a fun hop! If you haven't joined any of our blog hops yet...you won't want to miss this one. So be sure to stop back tomorrow, or head right over to the QKR Stampede Blog, and hop along with us!

Birthday Mouse

I have a card for you that I made for 3 different challenges. I used this weeks Sweet Stop Sketch as my layout. I used the "recipe" from the Simon Says Challenge Blog, which is 1 image, 2 Pattern Papers, and 3 types of embellishments. I also am using this card for this weeks Cupcake Craft Challenge...which is Dazzle Us (add sparkle).
So...the image is from the newly release Sweet 'n Sassy set "So Sweet Cocoa". I stamped and colored him with colored pencils. I layered him onto some striped PP, and layered that onto some polka dotted PP. The blue with the scallop is actually the back of the striped paper. I then added my 3 embellishments...ribbon, stickles, and some blue gems. The sentiment is from QKR Stampede.
That is all for now...be sure to stop back tomorrow...I have a cute simple Father's Day QKR Stampede card to share with you.

Creative Belli Challenge 93 - Rub Ons

Happy Wednesday!!! It is Creative Belli Challenge day! Today's challenge is to use Rub-ons. I LOVE rub-ons, but I hoard them...lol. I think they are sooo neat, and such a simple embellishment to use, but for some reason I don't use them as often as I would/should because I am afraid I will use them all up. Now I know you are all like that with at least one of your paper crafting supplies...lol. Well, today we are encouraging you to dig out those rub-ons and use them. Don't forget to stop over to the Creative Belli Blog and see all the DT ladies gorgeous work. Here is what I came up with for this challenge.
I have seen so many butterflies this spring/summer so far. Seems like a surplus of black and yellow ones. I was actually inspired to use these colors from those butterflies I have been seeing. I started with a white CS base, and added the black CS to that. Then I pulled out my good old SU rub-ons from a year or more ago that I have been hoarding, and added some to the black. I added the flourish to the corner, and the little butterflies all around. I even used a rub-on for the sentiment! Next, I wanted to try something new. I keep seeing these paper flowers all over the blogging world, and have wanted to try them. I thought this was a perfect card to do them with. Here is a close up of them. I used some yellow PP I have had for about 7 years...yes I said 7...again hoarding it...lol. I cut out a circle, and cut that into a spiral, the twisted from the outside in. I saw a tutorial for this somewhere, but not positive where. Well...as you can see they are so pretty when they are done...and really very simple to make. Next I stamped the butterflies with black ink unto that same yellow PP, and cut them out. I layered them onto the background with foam tape to make them stick out some more. I curled the edges of the butterflies just a little too. The last thing I did was add some sparkle by misting the card with a water and liquid pearl mixture. It adds such a nice subtle sparkle.
Well, now it is YOUR turn! Head on over to the Creative Belli Blog, and link up your card you made with rub-ons. Us DT ladies can't wait to see what you come up with...and hope to help you stop hoarding those embellishments, and use them up! Thanks for stopping by today!

More Teacher Gifts

The other day I posted the little apple album my oldest daughter's class is giving to the teacher. Today I have teacher gifts to show you that I made for the teachers just from my girls. I had to make 7 of these...between school and dance. I also needed a little something for the gymnastics coaches, so I put a little something together for them too. Well here is the gifts I made for the dance and school teachers.
I used THIS template that I found back in January from Clear and Simple Stamps. The idea was posted on my LSS's blog, and I followed the link from there. I thought they would make adorable teacher gifts. I started with white CS for the main part of the mug. Then, I made the little apples with my Create-a-Critter Cricut cartridge. I added little handle and a trim to the top to coordinate with the apples. I thought they came out so cute! I stuffed a little bit of red tissue paper in the bottom of each one, and added two packets of Starbucks VIA, a chocolate covered spoon (I made a few weeks ago), and some Hershey Kisses. Here is the whole group of them together.
For the gymnastics coaches I filled a little baggie with Hershey Kisses, and added a topper. I cut the topper 3 1/2" x 4" and stamped the image from the SU "Yummy" set...which I believe was a sale-a-bration set a year or so ago. I hand wrote "Thank You!" on the back. Something simple...but still "sweet".

That's it for now. Don't forget to stop back on Friday for our June QKR Stampede Blog Hop...it is going to be a summery good time!

Ashley's Father's Day Card

Now it is time to post Ash's card she made. She made her father's day card for the Kona Kid Krafter's Challenge, and added some "bling" to it for the Little Hands do Crafts Challenge. Here is her card.
Sorry the image is a little dark...I had a hard time getting her to move out of the light while taking this picture. She was just so excited about her card. She used a dark purple for the base...since purple is her favorite color. We used some PP from the DCWV Guy Stack, and layered a white square on top of that. She then used some stickers that I had, and thought would be adorable for a father's day card. I think I got these at a make-and-take party I went to last summer...about time they got used. I let her put the stickers however she wanted. On the bottom we added a white CS rectangle with the Father's Day sentiment from QKR Stampede. She used the little screw stickers to look like they are holding the sentiment in place. And of course she had to add "Turner" the screwdriver (she is a Handy Manny fan too...lol). Last, she wanted to add some BLING...she added some shiny silver brads around the main image square. Mom thought they looked like shiny new nails...lol. Well that is it for this card. They are already looking forward to the next kid's challenges!

Natalie's Father's Day Card

Earlier I posted my oldest daughter's card for the kids challenge. Now I have my middle daughter's card. Her card actually works for 2 different kid challenges. First, she made a father's day card...which is the Kona Kid Challenge. 2nd, she added some "bling" which is the Little Hands do Crafts challenge this month. Here is her card.

She used this adorable digi image from Sweet 'n Sassy called A Donut for Cocoa. She colored it with colored pencils, and cut him out. She layered him onto some flower green PP...which she chose because..."I want daddy to know how much I love him with lots of flowers". She stamped the sentiment on cream CS using the QKR Stampede image which is part of a 4 stamp set called Happy Birthday. Last she added some BLING! She picked some shiny gem heart brads, and some sparkly butterflies. My DH is going to be so proud of his girls' creations!

Morgan's Father's Day Card

A few posts back I told you about a new kids challenge blog I found, Kona Kid Krafter. Well they posted their first challenge. The challenge is to make a father's day card. My girls were very excited, and got to work. We have my oldest daughter's card totally finished, and here it is. She used a digi image from Sew Many Cards called Kathi Dressed in Dad's Clothes . She colored with colored pencils. She is crazy excited to use the Cuttlebug all the time...so she embossed the base, then layered using PP from DCWV's Guy Stack. She added a sticker, and put a brad on that with the letter "d" for daddy. Last she cut out the ties from the same PP, and glued those on. I thought she did very well, and I know her daddy will LOVE it!
If you have kids between the ages of 3-17 , have them play along with this challenge blog. There also have Blog Candy!!! What little kid wouldn't like to receive a box of goodies in the mail?!

Class Teacher Gift

TGIF! I am glad it is the weekend. I love weekends in the summer time...we do a lot of camping on the weekends, and the whole family looks forward to it. Well, I am room mom for my oldest daughter's class at school. I try to put together a gift to the teacher from the whole class. As Christmas I collected a few dollars from each person and bought a gift certificate and a plant. Well for end of the year, I have decided to again get a gift certificate, but I wanted to get something extra special to help the teacher remember the kids. Since this year more then ever is special...being the last year our school is open. Sadly at the end of June, our school will be closing it's doors forever. I was going to have the kids in the class decorate a garden flag for her, but couldn't find the stuff I needed to do that, so I came up with this instead.

Isn't this cute!!!!!??? I used my Cricut and deep cutting blade to cut out the apples from chipboard. I then layered red CS over the apple, and green CS over the leaves. For the cover I used some sticker CS letters for "2nd Grade" and hand wrote the teacher's name. I added the date to the leaves/stem. Now...the hand print stickers have a sentimental value in this case. I know they look a little bit too much, but...every year the kids in the class paint their hand prints somewhere on the walls of the classroom. For 20+ years the teacher has been doing this, so I thought it would have a great sentimental meaning. For the inside pages, I will be starting with a class photo and adding some nice poem or something to go with that. Then on each page I will put a photo of one of the children and I have pre-cut lined paper for them to write why they like their teacher or why they like 2nd grade. Here is my daughter's page (I don't want to share any other ones since I don't parent's permission to do it.)I scribbled her name off for the photo...that is what that black is under the photo. Isn't this adorable! I will be going into the classroom, and having the children fill out their little journal boxes. I have asked each parent to send me in a wallet size photo too.

Well I certainly think this will be a great memory item for this amazing teacher. Now I just hope I can keep it a secret from her until the end of the month...lol. Thanks for stopping by!

You are my Sunshine

Hello...it is QKR Stampede day!!! I look forward to Thursdays so I can show you these awesome stamps. There are so many great images...I just wish I could share all of them with you. BUT, you can head on over to the QKR Stampede store to see them all...make sure you have a lot of time to surf the site though...lol. Another great way to see these stamps if from our DT Blog HERE. Us DT ladies are posting almost everyday with different eye candy for you. And speaking of eye candy...next Friday June 11 is our June Design Team Blog Hop. It is going to be a good one too! We will be featuring some summer and picnic themed images. Be sure to stop by for the hop. I will have a little reminder for you next Thursday too.
Now onto today's QKR card. I made this card using this week's Mojo Monday Sketch.
I don't usually do round cards, so I thought it would be fun. Plus I got to use up some papers I have had laying around. Which as I mentioned earlier this week is my new goal for the summer...stay away from the paper crafts departments....LOL. Wish me luck...ha ha. I also strayed from my norm and used a sentiment stamp as my main image. I used the My Sunshine image, and stamped it on yellow CS with Bay Breeze ink.
I cut it and did some ink distressing to the edges. I started with a Bay Breeze scalloped circle base. I layered some yellow CS onto that (can't remember the exact yellow). The sunshine PP is from a freebie in a magazine. Now...I can't remember the name of the magazine because I have had this for like 4 years. I just remember when I first got back into stamping, my DH bought me this magazine as a little surprise gift. I have hoarded the free papers ever since...lol. I added a Bay Breeze strip, and some sticky cuts to the left side of the circle. I added some gold glitter to those too. Well that is it for now. Thanks for stopping by today, and don't forget about our QKR Stampede Blog Hop on 6/11!
