Bridal Shower Card -BSS2

I made this card for a bridal shower I am going to this Saturday. My 3 girls are all in the wedding, so I already know the wedding colors are ivory and red. This is the first time I have even made a "full-size" card as well. I used a full sheet of 8 1/2 x 11 craft CS. I used a sketch from my LSS's blog. They just started doing challenges, this is the 2nd one. I am always up for a sketch challenge. HERE is the sketch, and Here is my card... The bride stamp is from Hanna Stamps. I "borrowed" it from a friend. She also gave me the gorgeous ivory colored CS she is stamped on. It is hard to see in the picture, but the paper is actually iridescent. I added some stickles to the dress and veil (color is called candy cane). I used colored pencils to color her hair and flowers. I added a touch of crystal stickles to the earrings, but again it is hard to see in the photo. I cut the bride out in an oval shape, and layered it onto a red CS oval. The ribbon I had saved from the roses my hubby gave me for our anniversary last month. I knew I would find a use for it...lol. The sentiment I stamped from a set my friend had as well. It also is stamped on the iridescent paper and punched with a scalloped oval punch. I layered it onto red CS that I ran threw the crimper. Then layered again on more of the ivory iridescent CS. The flower in the top corner I used a 3 different flower punches to make. Then layered them, added some stickles, and a jeweled brad. That is pretty much it for today.

Now I need to start packing for CHA! I am so excited. Have a great weekend!

Another Thank You Note

I just wanted to share another set of the thank you notes I made for my SIL. Part of my gift to her is a set of thank you notes. Here is the second set of them.

I used baby blue CS as the base. The DSP has little blue hand and foot prints. The little duckie and bear are from The Angel Company stamp set from March '09. Which I almost didn't get! I didn't start selling for TAC until April this year. The first TAC party I ever went to was in March this year. This was the first set I saw online before I went to the party. I HAD to have it. They had already run out, but the demonstrator happened to have 1 left! There are 6 adorable little animals in the set. ANYWAY...I added the little buttons to the bottom, and used a sentiment from a SU set.

That is all for today. Thank you for stopping by!

Christmas in July! SSS13, CCC49

Today I have one card, and another of the baby shower prizes to show you, as well as my new "Pride and Joy". I will start with the card. I created this for 2 different challenges. The sketch is from the Sweet Stop Challenge, and there was a twist...hence the Christmas in July. Check it out HERE to see the sketch. The Cupcake Craft Challenge this week was also to create a Christmas card. So here is what I came up with.

I used a white CS base, and layered red and green. I used the eyelet boarder punch to create the scalloped look. I just purchased some new holiday DSP, but none of them went well with the stamp I wanted to use, so I created my own. I used the little snowflake from the TAC PWP set Swirly Seasons. This is a brand new set from the new Angel Company catalog. If you purchase $30 worth of anything from the catalog, you can purchase one of the "Purchase with purchase" sets for $2.95. There are good amount of them to choose from too! The tree is from the retired TAC set Seasonal Cuties...which happens to be on sale right now for a short period of time. I just love this set, and was so sad when they retired it. I added some crystal stickles to the tree, and the little Christmas tree brads to the corner.
My next project tonight was another shower prize. Here it is...

I wanted to make a post-it note holder, but decided I didn't' want a desktop one. So I found this frame at my local craft store, and went with it. It is a 4x6 magnetic frame. The stamp is from one the TAC April '09 SOTM set. I am just hitting all the retired or unavailable sets tonight...ha ha. The DSP is from SU...just using up some papers I have. I colored the image with the aqua painter and the ink pads. I hand wrote the "Notes" sentiment. I attached everything with sticky strip to get a good strong adhesive. The pen is just a 1"x3" piece of DSP to match. I attached the pen with some white ribbon.

The last thing I wanted to share with you tonight is my new "Pride and Joy". My husband and I just bought this lovely 30 foot camper!

We are keeping it at our property in the country. Since it is like 7500 lbs., and our minivan just can't tow that...lol. It is such a wonderful upgrade from our pop-up! We like to spend the night down there with our girls, and now we even have a BATHROOM! Can you tell I am excited? There is so much room for our family in there.

Well that is it for today. I am really looking forward to my big trip next weekend. My mom and I are going to CHA! I am just crazy excited to go. I am going to try to get some photos, and hopefully lots of make and takes that I will be able to share with you. Thanks so much for stopping by.

Fluttering Birthday Card CCC48

Just another crazy summer weekend for my family. Thursday we had a birthday party at Chuck E Cheese for my niece, and we get to go to another CEC party tomorrow too! Thursday wasn't so bad, but I am sure I will have some sort of head pain by the time I leave there Saturday...lol. Tonight we took our girls to see the new Ice Age movie. We were supposed to go camping at our property, but the rain kept us home. So...off to the movies. It was the first time my 2 year old has gone...and she was GREAT! She is so into dinosaurs that she was fascinated by the movie. I highly recommend the movie...a lot of adult humor too.

Tonight I had to whip off a card for the party tomorrow. I wanted to add a couple challenges in with it too of course. I did the Cupcake Craft Challenge, as well as a challenge for the blog for my local stamp store. The CCC this week was "Blossoms & Butterflies"...perfect for me...since I think I have 10,000 sets of either flowers, butterflies, or both! The layout of the card is from the Buffalo Stamps and Stuff blog. The challenge was the create a tri-fold card. (11x4 1/4 w/scores @ 2 3/4 & 5 1/2). So here is what I came up with.

I used a purple CS for the base (which is the mother of the little girl's favorite color). The DSP is all from Stampin Up...don't remember what set though. The stamp set is from There She Goes. It was a gift from a friend. I thought it was perfect time to use it. The butterflies on the front, I stamped in Versamark ink then sprinkled a violet tinted glitter on them...although it is hard to see the violet in it...still pretty. Here is a close up...The green and purple butterfly I stamped 3 sets of. Then layered them for a 3-D effect. I also added some stickles, and liquid pearl to it. All the butterflies were attached with dimensionals. Here is a close up of the green butterfly.I used a gel pen to write the sentiments...other then the "Happy Birthday", which is from TAC Ordinary Greetings set. With the lighting, it was tough to get a good view of the hand written stuff. On the front is says..."Just fluttering by...". Second panel says "to wish Nia a very...".

Well that is it for tonight. Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a great weekend. We are also throwing a little camping trip in tomorrow...since we couldn't go tonight. Always a good time. I am really looking forward to some S'mores!!!!

3-in-one challenge...plus a shower prize. SSS12, CBC69, HHC39

So today I created one card to fulfill 3 different challenges. The first challenge in the Sweet Stop Challenge...which is the sketch I used. The second is one of my favorites, the Belli Blog Challenge...which was texture. (Use texture somewhere on your card...flocking, feather soft, etc.) The third is the High Hopes Challenge...which was to Upsy Daisy. (Use daisies on your card). So here is what I came up with.
I used yellow CS as my base, and layered lilac CS on top of that. The DSP is from the Tutti Frutti Collection from The Angel Company. I then cut another yellow square, and layered it with a lilac square. The daisy stamp is the Gerbera Daisy from TAC (My favorite TAC stamp I think!). I cut just the flower part out, and colored the center in yellow. Last I stamped the little butterflies, which are from the TAC set Wild for you. I added black fun flock to them, and cut them out. I used dimensionals to attach them. Here is a little closer shot so you can see the pop-up of it, and the flocking.

The last thing I did on this card was add a little bit of crystal stickles to the flower. You can see that in the photo above also.

My second creation tonight was the first of the prizes I am making for the baby shower for my SIL I mentioned in a previous post. I had seen these on SCS, and thought they would make great gifts/prizes. Well...I struggled to find the note cubes. I went to the links I found off people's SCS posts, and they were unavailable. I did all sorts of google searching, and sent my husband to 3 different office stores! Isn't he great...all that for my stamping project! Anyway, I finally found them on Oriental Trading. They are a 3 pack of them for a very reasonable price. I ordered 2 sets this time around, because I want to make them as teacher gifts this year for Christmas too. It is July and I am already thinking what I am going to make for Christmas gifts...lol. So here is the first one I made. I am going to make at least one more of these, but use a different stamp set. I used TAC's Fruit Collages set for this one. Funny this is the second time I have used this set that my mother liked, and I said I would NEVER use...lol.

As you can see, I stamped on all 4 sides of the cube. I used a purple ink for the grapes, and for the strawberries and raspberries I used red inks...although they are not the same red. I did the strawberry twice. These were SOOOO easy! The hardest part was holding the pad together while stamping on it. I am also going to add a pen to go with each pad when I get them ready for the shower.

Well that is it for today. Thanks so much for stopping by!

A couple challenges - SSS11 and CCC 47

I have two things to share with you today. The first is a card for 2 different challenge blogs. I was able to do both with one card. Always a plus! The second card is a sample of one of the "sets" of thank you notes I will be making for my SIL's baby shower gift. (As I mentioned before I am making her between 50 and 75 thank you notes for her as a gift.)

So...the first card is for The Sweet Stop challenge sketch blog(SSS11), and the Cupcake Craft Challenge (CCC47) blog(which was supposed to end and is now going to continue, read more about that on the blog link above!!!). I used the sketch from The Sweet Stop and the color challenge from CCC. Here is what I came up with.

As you can see the color challenge was black and white. I used the Sweet and Sassy newly released stamp set "Gone Buggy", which is ADORABLE! I layered black CS on white CS. I used a scalloped circle punch on white, and layered it with a black circle. Then added white bitty blossoms. I made my own background paper for the strip on the bottom portion. I used the TAC Stamp of the Month from April '09 Floral Vines. The bug and saying are both from the set mentioned above. And no card is complete without some sort of sparkly and shine! So I added some stickles to the antennas and on some of the flowers on the bottom strip. I also used pearl stickles on the bug's wings.

My next card is the first of the set of thank yous.

I used a 1" strip of DSP from a set I got at Jo-An's. It is a cute set of baby boy papers...which is TOTALLY foreign to me as a mother of 3 girls...lol. The little blue square is cut and embossed with a cuttlebug die that came with the machine when I bought it. It is a little hard to see, but it is a stamp with a baby carriage on it. The sentiment is from TAC "ordinary greetings".

That is it for today. Thanks for stopping by!

Baby Shower invites

I am co-hosting a baby shower for my sister-in-law at the end of August. I really want to make the shower as special as possible, so I am hand making as much as possible. My mom and I are will be making the prizes for the games. I made the invites...with some help from a friend to glue it all together tonight, I finally have them done. ( Although I have to stamp the info and write out the insides, but the outside is done). I have been crazy busy with VBS last week for my oldest daughter, and then the holiday weekend. We also went and spend Friday night at our property. I actually took the invites with me one day while I was waiting for my daughter to finish at VBS so I could cut them out. So...here they are....
I originally saw this idea on splitcoast HERE. I really loved it. I contacted the original poster, and she used a cricut and some computer program to create them that I don't have. So I had to make do on my own. I made a pattern and went from there. It was a lot of cutting, but it is worth it. I started by tracing and cutting the shape. I next ran the bottom part of the card through the cuttlebug with the swissdot embossing folder. Next I traced and cut the top part of the bottle on a peachy colored CS. The footprint ribbon I found @ Jo-An's. (I bought it in blue, mint green, and yellow...lol). I cut pieces and we attached those on with tape runner. Last we added the little foot brads....which I found at Micheal's. They came in a 24 pack with little hands and feet. So that is 1 project for this shower down...MANY more to go. I am making my sis-in-law a set of thank you notes as part of my gift for her. I would really like to make between 50 and 75 of them for her, but will see what I end up with. I will begin work on those this week, as well as the game prizes we will be making. Thanks so much for stopping by.
