Warm Wishes

So today I decided to play along with the My Pink Stamper Saturday Challenge. The challenge is to create something with a winter theme. Here is what I came up with. I used the Create a Critter Cartridge. I made the little penguin and his igloo. The PP on the igloo is from Imaginisce, and the rub-ons are from there as well. It is a very simple card, but I thought it turned out so cute.
Well, I am off to use my new/used dryer! Very exciting...lol...oh the things that thrill us moms.

Fall Beauty

Hi there! So glad you stopped by today. Today is QKR Thursday! If you haven't been to the QKR Stampede blog in the past week, you missed the announcement of the brand new QKR Stampede DT! Along the side of my blog you will find the list as well, but if you head on over to the QKR blog you will also see some of the new ladies have started posting eye candy for you already! I am so excited that Maribeth asked me to return for another term on the QKR Stampede team. I just love these stamps, and I am sooo excited to be working with this great team again. Oh, and a little heads up...we will be doing our first blog hop with this great new team on the 22nd! So be sure to stop by for the hop.
Today I wanted to share a card I made using the LEAF stamp I showed you last week. Last week I also mentioned I had stamped off a bunch of the leaves that you saw on the frame. I used the baby wipe technique to make them, and just loved the way they turned out. I was also asked to show you a tutorial sometime on how I did it, so...look for that in the near future. But for now...here is the card I made. So this is probably one of the most simple cards ever, yet it turned out gorgeous. As you can see, I used one of the pretty LEAF images as the main focal point of the card. I did some fussy cutting on that, and layered it onto the brown rub-on. Yes...rub-on...the rest of the card is nothing but rub-ons. The pieces of color along the sides are rub-ons, and so is the sentiment. The brown side piece was actually one rub-on that I cut in 1/2 so I could use it in 2 places. That is it!

Well have a great rest of your week. Not sure if I will be back this weekend or not. We have some big plans here. Friday my DH is taking my older to girls to an amusement park (we have free passes!), Saturday we are going to take a tour of a local Chocolate factory...YUMMMM, and then a roller skating party. Don't worry I won't be skating...lol...I would end up hurting something...lol. Sunday my DH is going to the Bills football game...mostly for the fun of going with friends...cause we all know the Bills are NOT doing well...lol. Have a great day!

Trick or Treat...

Hi there. Hope you are having a good week so far. Things have been a bit crazy here as always...lol. The other night my dryer broke...that is a lot of fun with 5 people in the house! Yesterday my husband tried to fix it, but I think it maybe to the point of...well...done. I wish they would make appliances that worked like they did back in my parents' day. I remember the fridge we had growing up was like 30 years old before it finally went caput. Now, I am lucky to get 7 years out of my dryer! Thankfully, a friend of mine has a spare dryer they are offering me! What are the chances of that???!!! A FREE dryer! I will take it happily...even if we only get a couple years out of it. So hopefully by Saturday night I will have my "new"/used dryer so I can get back to my laundry. Not that I want to, but well frankly it has to be done...lol. Well today I was able to get a quick card done. I made this card for three different challenges. Ok...so this card is a little "busier" then I usually go with, but I actually liked the end results. First off...do you love my new little easel thingy??? My mommy bought it for me the other day. LOL. Ok...now...focus Jess...ok...I started with this adorable witch image from QKR Stampede. I colored her with colored pencils. I decided to go with a green skin today. I started thinking of one of my favorite books Wicked when I did this. LOVE that book...and sorry to hurt any feelings, but the book is soooo much better then the musical. The musical is great, but the book is just wonderful. Ok...FOCUS...lol. I added some stickles to the pumpkin, patch, and stars. The PP is all from the Target $1 spot. The ribbon is some free spiderweb ribbon I won on a Facebook contest. The little sentiment is actually cut out from the paper behind the witch.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

As many of you already know...since we see it everywhere...it is Breast Cancer Awareness month. This is a horrible thing that effects so many women and families in some way. I think pretty much everyone you talk to has been effected in someway by this horrible illness. Today I wanted to share my "Think Pink" card with you. This adorable ladybug gone "pink" image is from Digital Delights. The ribbon is also a digi from them. I went all pink and white on this card.

Well, I just wanted to share this card with you quickly. I am off to go help my hubby try to fix my dryer. Hoping it works!

A little pastel vintage

Hi there. I hope you all had a chance to get some stamping or card making in this weekend. I saw so many fun things advertised for World Card Making Day, but unfortunately they are mostly out West. =( I would love to attend one of those big events sometime. A girl can dream! Well I wanted to share a card I made for a facebook contest from the Greeting Farm on Saturday. They had a contest to post a card on their wall that has never been seen before. Well, now that the contest is over, I thought I would share it. I just love the way this turned out. I wish I could have gotten the lighting better, but it was rather cloudy here today, and I just couldn't get the lights to work for me. I am also using this card for the SEI Link Party! The background paper is from the Chick-a-dee collection and is called ga-ga. The buttons and ribbon are from the same collection. I also used my i-Rock at add some pink crystals to the corners. I also used the SEI chalk ink to distress the edges. The image is one of the Darling Sisters from The Greeting Farm. I colored her using colored pencils and gamsol.

Happy World Card Making Day!!!!

Happy World Card Making Day!!! I thought I would start today by sharing a card I made. I am hoping to get some card making day in, but we will see...lol. My oldest DD had a friend sleep over last night, and I am hosting a Close to my Heart party tonight. I have never been to one, so I am looking forward to it. And what a great way to celebrate World Card Making Day then with friends! So...onto my card....
I made this card for this week's Cupcake Craft Challenge...which is Pink and Brown. I used this this pretty butterfly stamp that I won from some blog candy a couple weeks ago. I stamped it with brown ink, and cut it out into a circle. I layered it onto a brown circle. The bottom layer I ran through the cuttlebug, and stippled over with pink. I also stippled on the butterfly circle, and the sentiment circle. The sentiment is from a Sweet 'n Sassy set. I added some brown ribbon, and some pink gems. The card base is pink.
