Creative Belli 105 - The R's!

Hi there! Happy almost Thanksgiving! Today we have a new challenge for you over at the Creative Belli Challenge. This time we are challenging you to use embellishments that begin with the letter "R". So some ideas would be: ribbon, rik-rak, rhinestones, rub-on's, red....basically anything that starts with an "R" that you have on hand. Remember...use what you have, those old and forgotten embellishments! Here is what I came up with. So I started with a Red card base. I used some PP from SEI for the first circle. The image I used is one I have had for probably about 2 years. I don't mean I had the stamp, I mean I had this image stamped off...lol. A fellow stamping friend stamped this one off for me a few years ago, and I just never used it. So I colored it with colored pencils and Gamsol. I added some fun fur to the white kitty. Next I added some Rhinestones to the corners, and a Rub-on for my sentiment. The Rub-on is from SU, and I have had those for a couple years too. So now it is your turn! Pull out some "R" embellishments, and then head on over to the Creative Belli Challenge and show us your work! My weekend projects

I spent 3 hours in my craft room the other day, and feel like I have nothing to show for it...lol. I started working on a project/craft for my MOPS group to make. I thought it would be a lovely idea for our Christmas meeting to make chipboard mini albums. Problem is...when I volunteer myself for this stuff, I forget I have to mass produce them...lol. Well I finally sat down and started on Saturday. Each album is only going to be 3 pages, BUT x's that by 20 and I am making 60 of these cardboard trees. I was hoping to use my Cricut and my deep cutting blade, but it just wasn't going well. I need to make my mat stickier again, or just buy a new one...lol. So...I ended up hand cutting most of them. Then I used my Cricut to cut the PP's that we will be putting on them. I will admit, I was quickly bored out of my mind...lol. I kept switching between cutting cardboard, and using the Cricut to cut CS. Well here is my first day's worth of work. Not too bad right? I plan on heading downstairs today to get some more done. I guess I was all about starting and not finishing things this weekend. I also made these...These are for teacher gifts this year. Oh, and I wrapped ribbon around the containers these are going on too.

My last project was birthday invitations. We have 2 winter birthdays coming up. 1 in December, and 1 in January. Well, since I have been so productive .... HA HA HA HA HA ... I decided to make the ones for the January party. Because you know those ones don't have to be ready yet...lol. So these are supposed to be golf balls. My DD is going to have a mini-golf party. I cut the circle cards with my Cricut. Then I ran the front through the cuttlebug, but use the embossing folder "upside down". That way there would be indents and not bumps. They are very simple.

12 Blogs of Christmas - QKR Blog Hop

On the 4th blog of Christmas my true love gave to me... okay so you probably don't really want me to sing, but it was a fun thought...lol WELCOME WELCOME to the QKR Stampede "12 Blogs of Christmas" blog hop! You don't want to miss any of the "12 Blogs of Christmas". So if you are right on track then let us continue! I am so excited about this blog hop, why???? Well, I love Christmas! Although I am freaking out a little that it is a little over a month away, but still I love it...lol. Christmas is always such a magical time in our house. I have 3 little girls that just love the whole holiday thing. Well, I should stop rambling, and show you my projects. I made 2 for this hop. My first project is an altered item. I was at a local dime store called Viddler's a few weeks ago with my mom. I saw this bell, and had to have it. I wanted to "fix" it as I like to say. I have never stamped on metal before, so I thought it would be fun. I thought it turned out pretty well. I stamped the little Reindeer Gift image onto the bell using Staz-on ink. I actually stamped it on both sides, but the first side "slipped" a little, so I won't show you that side...lol. To color it, I purchased some Sharpie paint markers. The colors are a lot more limited then other choices, but they had what I needed for this. I also added some red stickles to his nose, and green to the ribbon on the gift. Now I may need to hide this thing before too long...my girls keep ringing it, and it is very "cowbell" loud! ha ha.
My next project is a little homemade "Christmas List" note pad. A couple years ago I purchased (well my mom purchased for me) a binding system. It is not a fancy one, but it does the job, and I like it! Anyway, I started with 2 pieces of white CS, and layered some SEI PP onto those. For the middle, I used some pieces of loose leaf paper the I trimmed up. On the front I used some scraps of white CS and hand wrote the sentiments on it. I then used the TREE image from QKR Stampede. I stamped it onto white CS, and colored it with watercolor crayons. I detail trimmed it, and attached it to the front of the note pad. Then I used my i-Rock at add some little heat set gems to be ornaments. I thought this would be a handy little pad to stick in my purse for Christmas shopping.

QKR Stampede - Christmas Cards

Hi there. Wow I didn't' realize it had been so long since I shared something with you. I have been doing a lot of crafting, but mostly have been scrapbooking. I FINALLY finished January - June of 2010...WOOHOO!!! Now I have to get the rest done...lol. I just did a big photo order too. Just a little side note, if you use Snapfish.com, they have a promotion going on right now if you spend $10 you get up to 365 prints for FREE!!! So...I ordered my mommy's Christmas gift, and then all my photos from Sept - current. I am looking forward to get moving on them, and whatever doesn't get done, will get done at a crop I am going to on the 11th of December. Anyway, I wanted to share my Christmas cards with you today. Awhile back I showed you the folded flowers I made for these. Well I finally have them all together. Sorry the photos are NOT the greatest today. The weather is yucky here, so I can't get the right lighting. It is way to windy and rainy outside to try to take them out there. Well, I made 30 of these total. As you can see, there are 3 different colors for these cards. Here are close ups of each one.

REDGREENAND BLUE (TEAL)

I ran each CS base through the Cuttlebug, then attached the folded flowers. I then used the Merry Christmas stamp from QKR Stampede, and added the sentiments to each one. For the blue card I decided to try out a new product that you can purchase HERE from QKR Stampede. It is called Sticky Powder. You use it like an embossing powder, so stamped with Versamark (or other glue pad) and cover with the sticky powder. When you heat it, it becomes sticky. Now I am still trying to "master" the art of the sticky powder...lol. I was pretty happy with the way these turned out thought. I stamped the image with Versamark, and then added the Sticky Powder. I heated it up until it was "shiny" then added some silver glitter to it. I am hoping to play some more with this product soon. I have a couple more "ideas" in my crazy head...lol.

Skipping Stones

Ok another post for me today. LOL I spent most of my afternoon scrapbooking today. I am so determined to get caught up in this album. I am supposed to go to a crop in December, and I don't want to have to drag 6 months of photos with me. I would feel much better if I only took about 2 months with me. Anyway, I wanted to share this page with you because I love the way it turned out. I used a PP from Stampin' Up for my base, and all the photos are from a trip to a local park.So this "panoramic" view thingy is my new favorite technique. The key is to remember to take the right photo views when you take the pictures. I learned this technique back in May at the CKC convention. There is a company that actually sells papers to help line up your photos and everything. BUT, I didn't have those, so this is what I got. They aren't perfect, but I thought they still looked pretty cool. This one is actually 2 different photos. I made one the other day that was a combination of 3 photos. I just think it gives the coolest effect on a page when you do this. The "secret" is to make sure you take the photo combination you need from the same exact spot. When I took mine, I stood in one spot and just slightly turned my body to take the 2nd photo. DON'T move your feet!
Well, I just wanted to share this page with you, because I was pleased with the way it turned out. Now I must go make dinner, and maybe return to my craft cave to get some more scrapping done. I had to take a mental break...lol. I am in the middle of a page that makes me sad, so I had to walk away and clear my mind. Thanks for stopping by!

3rd Grade Thanksgiving Project

Hi there. Today I wanted to share with you the crazy project I got myself into...lol. For some reason I volunteered myself to create a Thanksgiving project for my DD's 3rd grade class. I was "inspired" to make this from something I made about 6 or 7 years ago at a MOPS groups. I though we could totally do something similar with a group of 21 8 and 9 year olds...HA HA HA HA HA. Anyway, I decided to make fabric banners. This involved me sewing 24 (we are making a couple extra for gifts) pieces of muslin, cutting many many fabric "feathers" & other turkey parts, and ironing. Here are a few photos of the project. This first photo is what the children will be starting with...As you can see, I used iron on transfer paper, and printed the words. After ironing on the words, I added batting to each one, and sewed it over the hanger. Then comes the fun part! The kids get to create a turkey on the banner. I had my DD do her banner ahead as an example. Isn't it adorable!!!! I am very pleased with the finished product. We used various fabric remnants for the feathers. We used fabric glue to put them onto the banner. Now...wish me luck...I get to go make 23 more of these on Tuesday with the kids!

Fall Raccoon

HI there...I am back AGAIN today! Wow...3 posts in one day. I am on a roll...lol. Guess I found my mojo again. I wanted to share a card I made for 2 different challenges today. First I made this a fall themed card which fits with this month's Fuzzy Wuzzy Challenge. The challenge is 4 season...I picked Fall. I also used the sketch challenge from the What if? Wednesday challenge on the Repeat Impressions Blog. Here is what I came up with.
All the papers and images are from Imaginisce. I stamped the raccoon on cream CS, and colored him with watercolor crayons. I layered him onto the green rectangle. I cut 2 squares from the leaf PP, and layered those onto a red strip. The background paper is a wood grain PP. Last I added some i-Rock crystals to the corners. Thanks for stopping by...again...lol.
