Crazy 4 Cocoa!!!!!

HI there! I am so happy you stopped by today. Today is the debut challenge for a CRAZY new challenge blog from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps! CRAZY 4 COCOA!!!! I was so thrilled when Korin asked me to be a part of this wonderful new challenge blog. Since I am CRAZY...I mean since I am Crazy 4 Cocoa! Each Tuesday we will bring you a new challenge...and your only requirement to play...to use one of the many adorable Cocoa images available in the Sweet 'n Sassy online store! And today to help you get started with your love for the adorable Cocoa...if you play along with us this week, you will get a wonderful free digi Cocoa! So for our first challenge we are asking you to make a card using a Cocoa image for someone you love. Well here is what I came up with. I made this adorable Cupcake Cocoa card for my oldest DD's 8th birthday. Cupcake Cocoa is available in both Digi and Clear stamps. I used the clear stamp and stamped him onto white CS. I did some paper piecing, and colored with colored pencils and Gamsol. The sentiment I used is from another Cocoa clear stamp set called A Cocoa Kind of Birthday. For the LO of this card, I used the Sketch from our sister challenge blog The Sweet Stop!

Birthday Girl

Happy Sunday. I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving, and a fun "Black Friday" weekend! I ended up getting sick on Thursday night. So...shopping was NOT part of my Friday morning. Although I will honestly say...I am not a big fan of Black Friday shopping. Especially since you can get most of the store door busters on the store's website. I did go out for dinner Friday night and stopped at a couple stores, but most of the craziness was done by then. That, and how many people seriously shop at Harbor Freight Tools? lol...which by the way is a super scary store! I felt so out of place there. Well, I did get some projects done this weekend. I cut some more of the trees for the project for my MOPS group, and made my example for that. I also got this card done... I made this using the Buffalo Stamps and Stuff sketch challenge. So this is the first of MANY birthday cards you will see from me over the next couple weeks. We have 5 birthdays in the month of December just on my side of the family! I of course volunteered to make cards for both my dad and mom to give each person, and I need some from me. Oh, and there is an anniversary in December too. Now the best part...they are all in the same week! lol So for the first of many b-day cards, I used this adorable Birthday Girl image from QKR Stampede. I started with a yellow CS base, and layered the PP from Cosmo Cricket onto that. I used a piece of yellow CS and some yellow felt ribbon (from SEI) on that. I colored the image with colored pencils and layered it onto a purple CS circle. Last, I added the sentiment, which is from the Happy Birthday set from QKR Stampede. This set comes with 4 different sentiments.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!! I have so much to be thankful for this year. So many changes in our live over the past year, but I believe GOD was/is in control. As hard as some of these changes have been, I feel blessed for the results they have shown in our lives. What are you thankful for?

Well today I wanted to share a LO I made for my 2010 family photo album. Now, there are no photos yet because this is my Thanksgiving page...and well I will be taking the photos today. I was very pleased with how this came out, and I am sure it will look even better with photos of my family on there! I started with a brown piece of PP from TAC. I then used some PP from the Olivia collection from CTMH. I layered the white photo mats onto the PP circles. Then I used my Cricut to cut out the letters. (It will be so much easier once I have my Xyron to get these letters on =)...my mommy is getting me a Xyron for Christmas!) Next I added 2 of the LEAF images from QKR Stampede. These are both ones I stamped off before when I used the baby wipe technique. I trimmed them down, and added them to the corners. I just love this image. It is so pretty. A lot of the other DT ladies have used this image too. You can scroll through the QKR Stampede Blog to check them out. I have to say, if you were to have to pick just one stamp from the QKR Stampede store, I would recommend this one. Of course if you can walk away with only ordering one stamp, I will be pretty impressed....lol. So many fantastic images are available in the store.

Well I am off to feed my family some yummy turkey, potatoes, stuffing, rolls, corn, and more! Uggg...I feel full already.

No ink Christmas Card

Hi there. Back again with another card for you today. A Christmas card, and I wanted to challenge myself to use NO ink. That is right...there is no stamping on this card at all. Here is what I came up with.I used PP from My Mind's Eye. The center sentiment is from that same paper pack. I also punched out some little snowflakes, and added those. I wanted to embellish it up a little, so I used some i-Rock pearl, and some snowflake eyelets. I also used some pearl smooth on the "Christmas" to make it shine.

Creative Belli 105 - The R's!

Hi there! Happy almost Thanksgiving! Today we have a new challenge for you over at the Creative Belli Challenge. This time we are challenging you to use embellishments that begin with the letter "R". So some ideas would be: ribbon, rik-rak, rhinestones, rub-on's, red....basically anything that starts with an "R" that you have on hand. Remember...use what you have, those old and forgotten embellishments! Here is what I came up with. So I started with a Red card base. I used some PP from SEI for the first circle. The image I used is one I have had for probably about 2 years. I don't mean I had the stamp, I mean I had this image stamped off...lol. A fellow stamping friend stamped this one off for me a few years ago, and I just never used it. So I colored it with colored pencils and Gamsol. I added some fun fur to the white kitty. Next I added some Rhinestones to the corners, and a Rub-on for my sentiment. The Rub-on is from SU, and I have had those for a couple years too. So now it is your turn! Pull out some "R" embellishments, and then head on over to the Creative Belli Challenge and show us your work! My weekend projects

I spent 3 hours in my craft room the other day, and feel like I have nothing to show for it...lol. I started working on a project/craft for my MOPS group to make. I thought it would be a lovely idea for our Christmas meeting to make chipboard mini albums. Problem is...when I volunteer myself for this stuff, I forget I have to mass produce them...lol. Well I finally sat down and started on Saturday. Each album is only going to be 3 pages, BUT x's that by 20 and I am making 60 of these cardboard trees. I was hoping to use my Cricut and my deep cutting blade, but it just wasn't going well. I need to make my mat stickier again, or just buy a new one...lol. So...I ended up hand cutting most of them. Then I used my Cricut to cut the PP's that we will be putting on them. I will admit, I was quickly bored out of my mind...lol. I kept switching between cutting cardboard, and using the Cricut to cut CS. Well here is my first day's worth of work. Not too bad right? I plan on heading downstairs today to get some more done. I guess I was all about starting and not finishing things this weekend. I also made these...These are for teacher gifts this year. Oh, and I wrapped ribbon around the containers these are going on too.

My last project was birthday invitations. We have 2 winter birthdays coming up. 1 in December, and 1 in January. Well, since I have been so productive .... HA HA HA HA HA ... I decided to make the ones for the January party. Because you know those ones don't have to be ready yet...lol. So these are supposed to be golf balls. My DD is going to have a mini-golf party. I cut the circle cards with my Cricut. Then I ran the front through the cuttlebug, but use the embossing folder "upside down". That way there would be indents and not bumps. They are very simple.
