Wow...still in shock that it is November, how about you? I just can't get over the fact that Christmas is so close, and I have nothing ready! We still have a few birthdays to get through before then too. Well today I wanted to share a bit of a "non-traditional" Christmas card I made with you. I think it is so fun to see pinks and purples as Christmas colors. I am so happy that the paper companies are finally giving us more holiday paper collections with those colors too. Although the PP I used on my card is from an "older" paper collection...lol. When I started making this card the other night, I had a totally different finished product in mind. I had an idea for this image, and even had the PP picked up. Then my mind turned back to the pink colors, and here is what I ended up with. I started with the TREE image from QKR Stampede. I stamped it with "pear" colored ink, and colored it in using the same ink pad and an aqua painter. I used a brown for the trunk. I WAS going to add a more traditional star to the top, but stumbled upon these buttons in my button stash, and off I went...lol. I attached all the little pink buttons with glue dots. I cut the image into an oval. The PP is from a Christmas collection from TAC, and it had PINK!!!! I layered it onto a white CS base. The sentiment is also from QKR Stampede, and is called Merry Christmas. I stamped it onto white CS with the "pear" green ink, and trimmed it down. I layered the tree onto the background with foam tape, and last added some stickles.
I was trying to make the stickles look like garland. I thought it turned out pretty close...lol. Well that is all for now. Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!
