QKR DAY!!!! N is for Night time...
You want to see the rest of this project??? Well you need to head on over to the QKR Stampede Blog to check it out. I will give you a little hint that I used the Sleepy Owl stamp from QKR Stampede, and I strayed from my norm here a bit, and made a scrapbook page! I have decided to take on a little project that I was inspired to make from something I found at the CKC Convention this past weekend. Good news is, I am starting early, so I should have this little project/gift done by November...which is when my littlest nephew will turn one. Ok...now for real...hop on over to the QKR Stampeded Blog and check out the rest of my post as well as scroll down to see some other DT Ladies posts! Wednesday, May 26, 2010
Black, Grey, and Yellow
Well, that is all for now. I hope to spend some of my holiday weekend (Memorial Day in the USA) doing some crafting to share with you too. I also finished my DH's father's day gift and will try to get that posted today or tomorrow. I have to find a time to sneak it upstairs to photograph it...I can't have him see it yet...lol. Have a great day!
Creative Belli Day! #92
Now for the "twist" or Belli part of the challenge...a FLAT embellishment. We are looking for flat stickers, ribbon, felt, or whatever else you have laying around to spiff up that card. No knots, bows, jewels, or other 3-D bling...just flat to the card. Now...don't forget the "spirit of the Belli"...use something old on your card. Something you have laying around. So without further ado...I give you my take on this sketch and flat embellishment.I stamped the fishes on white CS and cut them out. They are from an old SU set that I have had for a couple years now and honestly say I don't know the last time I used it if ever at all...lol. I colored the fish with colored pencil...notice the bottom right one is green and all the others are orange. I hand wrote the sentiments "Dare to be Different". I thought this would be a good encouragement type card, or just a general thinking of you type card. I also thought of sentiments like "Go against the flow", "Different is good", and "There is always one in the group that has to stick out." Last thing I did was add some stickles to the felt waves as well as the fish's fins. Now...it is YOUR turn! Head on over to the Creative Belli Challenge and see what flat embellishments the other DT ladies found. Then create your own using the sketch and flat embellishments and link them up to the Belli Challenge #92. Thanks for stopping by!

Morgan's May Card
Morgan used a bird on a branch stamp from SU. She colored it with markers, and cut it out. She picked a blue piece of Coordinations CS for the base, and picked the flower embossing boarder. I then taught her the cool trick to using Coordinations CS...sanding to bring out the base color. She really liked playing with that, and even did some sanding to the edges too. She layered that onto a brown pre-cut scalloped card I got from SU a couple years back. We found some brown with blue dots ribbon in my stash to add to it. Then she learned how to set eyelets with the crop-a-dile, and added a little blue flower brad. Last I showed her how cool white gel pen looks on dark CS. She added some little dots, and traced the scallops onto the bottom layer/inside of the card too. I thought she did a pretty good job, and actually love her brown and blue color scheme too.
If your kids want to play along, they have until the end of the month to play along with the NATURE theme. There will be a new theme for June...Thanks Little Hands Do Crafts for such a great challenge blog!
