Creative Belli Challenge 98- Round AND Metal

Hi there! It is time for a new challenge over at the Creative Belli Challenge Blog. This week we have a good one for you...well we always have a good one for you...lol. The challenge this week is to make a card that is round AND has something metal on it. We have also provided a sketch that you can use...but it is optional. I however find sketches a great way to start my mojo. Here is the sketch.Now...remember...when you are pulling out the embellishments for something metal to add to your creation...we love to see something OLD...by that we mean use something you have had laying around. So...without further ado...here is my card.I usually don't do round...but this was kinda fun to change things up a bit. Now I will tell you that I actually started this card twice. The first time it was way too plain for me, so I went back and added this polka dotted PP to the background. The paper is from a school themed kit I got at the CKC convention. I then used the ruler sticker strip from the same set. The little girl image is a digi image from Sweet 'n Sassy called School Girl Sally. I colored with colored pencils, and added some crystal effects to the desk (I got that idea from Korin's card she shared recently, and really liked it). I trimmed her out and layered onto some cream CS. The next embellishment I used is one of the metal items. Awhile back, I purchased a grab bag/surprise bag from the Oh My Crafts discount site. These glitter metal slice tags were part of that bag of goodies. Well I don't have a slice machine, so they have been sitting around collecting dust...UNTIL NOW! Inside the tag, I cut a piece of cream CS to the correct size, and added a rub-on that I have had for a while too. Last, I added a little metal library clip to the top. Now...if you want to talk about using some forgotten embellishments...this is it...lol. Acutally it is a hand-me-down embellishment...if that makes sense. A friend of mine had these for awhile, and had no use for them, so she gave them to me. Now after about a year I have finally found a fit for it!
Ok...last confession of the day...I didn't actually make this a card. After making it, I looked it over and thought it would look really cool on a scrapbook page. Since I gave her red hair, I thought it would be perfect for a first day of school scrapbook page. So...I am putting it aside until I get to the September photos, and I will add it to my scrapbook.
Ok...now...if you haven't been over to the Creative Belli Challenge yet...head on over and see what the other Belli girls have in store for you. And...please give a special welcome to our newest Belli Girl Robin Parker! Don't forget to play along and link your projects to the bottom of challenge post 98!
