New Stamp Room

I promise I did not fall off the planet. I realized I haven't blogged in over a week. I know I go in spurts sometimes, but this time it is for exciting reasons. My hubby said I could have the bigger room in the basement for my stamp room! So...he spent last weekend cleaning the room out, and started moving my stuff over. I am hoping to get everything finished this weekend. The new room is more the double the size of the old one. We decided to take the old room, and make that a craft room for our girls. Part of our resolution this in our family was to keep the living room and dining room constantly clean...this involved the girls little craft station being moved...so we are going to give them their own space to craft away! This also gets rid of some stuff on my counter and in my bedroom too. Cleaning is sooooo fun...well this time it is since I am benefiting so nicely. I will be back soon with some new stamp sets I got today too! Have a great weekend.

2 projects...4 challenges

Wow I guess it has been longer then I thought since I blogged. It has been a crazy hectic week and weekend. My middle daughter turned 5 on this past Friday, then we had her kid party on Sunday. Monday was a day off, but we had another b-day party to attend, as well as doctors visits. Now...to top it all off, I am sick. So much fun!!!! Well I was able to get down to my stamp room today to work on these 2 projects. The first is a card I made for 2 different challenges. I used the sketch from this weeks Sweet Stop w/a spin, and used hearts which is this weeks Creative Belli Challenge.

The spin for the Sweet Stop this week was to use only a sentiment as your focal point. I used a sentiment from one of the new TAC sets. (T3256 Savvy Sayings) This set has 12 different sentiments in it. They are all very cute and simple like the one above, and includes many different occasions. I also used hearts on this card, which is this weeks Creative Belli Challenge. I used some heart PP that I purchased a couple years back from the Target $1 spot. I also added some little pink heart brads that I have had for awhile too. I stamped the sentiment on pink CS, and sponged around it.

My 2nd project today is also for 2 different challenges. I used the Sketch from this weeks Cupcake Craft Challenge, and put it on top of a mini pizza box which is this weeks Project Tuesday Challenge.

The PP is all from the same paper set, which I purchased for $.97 at my LCS. I used some blue textured CS for the square behind the scalloped circle. The sentiment is from the same TAC set I mentioned above. I stamped it on white CS, and used a stipple brush to add some extra color to the CS. I am going to use this box to put my SIL's b-day gift into.

Well that is all for now. Thanks for Looking.

Turtle Birthday and some Early Valentines SSS38

Well, today my middle daughter turned 5! I can't believe it...like everyone told me when they were first born...time flies. She was just thrilled today to take cupcakes to school, and have the doughnuts daddy bought for breakfast. On the way to school she told me it was the "Happiest day of her life...", so sweet. Well I have 2 things to share with you today. The first is a card I made with this weeks Sweet Stop Sketch, and the second is some valentines.
I made this card using the Sweet Stop Sketch this week. I need a birthday card for a party one of my girls is going to on Monday. She requested I use the Princess Turtle set from Inky Antics (since she picked it out at a stamp show we went to). I stamped the image, colored it and cut it out. I then created a background for her using some cloud PP. I sponged a grassy hill onto the PP, and added some little flowers and butterflies from the same stamp set. I stamped the crown on gold CS and cut it out. I attached the turtle using foam tape for some 3-D look. I layered that onto a certainly celery CS base. I created a boarder for the center piece using some stamps from the same stamp set. Last, I added some paper flowers and stickles to the corners. Here is a close up.

My 2nd project today is the first batch of valentines for my DDs to pass out at school. I saw this idea on the TAC paper crafting community, and thought it would be perfect for Valentines. So easy too!

I used 3 or 4 different shades of red and pink for these. I cut and scored all 30 of them at once...mass producing can be oh so fun! I stamped a sentiment in the center (which is from one of the new TAC sets T3241 Bug of Fun), and then added the ladybugs (which are from a TAC hostess set). I used pink staples to attach the M&M's to the CS, and folded over the top flap and tucked it into the bottom flap. Very easy, and cute too.
Well that is all for now. Thanks for stopping by, have a great weekend.

Birthday Gifts in Progress

The other day I showed you a "sneak peek" of a project I am attempting to make. We have 4 birthdays in our family this month, so I wanted to try to make gifts. Well...HERE is the post with the first view of the gifts, and here are some more of the ALMOST finished product.

As you can see...I am attempting shrinky dinks. I stamped with staz-on ink onto the shrinky dink "paper", then colored the images with colored pencil. Since 3 of the things are going to be earrings, I made sure I punched holes before baking them. The little mug (which is going to be a pin, since my mom doesn't have pierced ears) ended up nice and flat like I wanted, the other pieces ended up still curled a bit, but since they are earrings I think it makes them look neat. I took this next photo to give you an idea of how small they are now compared to before.

This really was a fun project to do, now I just need to buy the earring hooks and get them attached. Thanks for looking!

Happy Birthday Hello MOJO121

Today I have a quick simple card to share. I made this using this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch. Here is what I came up with.
I used one of the new TAC stamp sets coming out(TB3235 Hello for All Seasons ). This set is really cute. There are 9 different stamps you can use for the center of the "O", all different seasons. I used the cupcake since this is a b-day card for my mom. The PP is from the TAC set Tootle Loo. I also used my new I-top to make my own coordinating brad. I used marker to color the image, and added some stickles to the "sprinkles" on the cupcake. Well that is it for now. Thanks for stopping by.

Floating by....

Happy Sunday! I have been working in my stamproom this weekend, and so far I only have one completed project to show you. I started this card, and had all the cutting done, and was ready to add the last image to it, when my hubby mentioned it would look better the other way (turned). SO, after giving him an annoyed look (because he was right), I made a trip to my LCS for some more cloud paper. I only had a small amount to work with the begin with, and when I "ruined" the first card, I need to buy more. Well, here is the finished product.I just love these new TAC sets. This little girls is from one of the new TAC sets coming out in the new Serendipity magalog. I colored her in with markers, and added some glitter to the hair bows and jeans. The houses are a rolling stamp from SU. I cut and trimmed all the houses down, so you can see the cloud paper behind them. I colored them in with markers, and added some crystal effects to the windows (I also put crystal effects on the balloon). I hand wrote the sentiment "Floating by..." inside "with a birthday hi".
Here is a sneak peek of the other project I am working on this weekend.

Thanks for stopping by...hopefully I will have these projects above finished tonight to show you.

A Cup of Tea with some LOVE! CBC82, CD50

Today I have two projects to share with you. The first one is for the Creative Belli Blog this week, and the challenge is glitter or rhinestones. Here is what I came up with.

I used pink CS for the base, and some PP that I got as a freebie from my LSS's booth at a stamp show this past summer. The letters are sticky cuts from SU. I used some glitter on the "L, V, & E", and I used microbeads on the heart/O. Very simple card, but I liked the way it turned out. Plus the added bonus, I used up some stuff I have laying around...which is the point of the Creative Belli Blog...use up supplies and stamps we already have.

My next project tonight is for two challenges. First, I used the colors from this weeks Color Dare Challenge (Ruby Red, Creamy Caramel, and Bermuda Bay). Next, I used the challenge from The Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Blog (my LSS) which was to use THIS mug template from Clear and Simple Stamps. Here is what I came up with.

I used some PP I had purchased over the summer at a LCS. The colors were perfect! I used Bermuda bay CS for the handle, and the bottom (which you can't see) is Creamy caramel CS. I found some ribbon left over from some barrettes that I made that was just the right color for ruby red. I thought this would be cute to use at end of year teacher gifts this year....yes I think that far ahead. =) I will probably make a few more and either fill with a gift card for coffee/tea, or some tea packets like in the picture.

Well that is all for today. Thanks so much for stopping by.

A Beary Pink Baby MOJO120, CCC72

Today I have a quick post for you. I wanted to play along with this week's Mojo Monday Sketch, as well as the Cupcake Craft Challenge.
I used the MOJO sketch for this layout, and this weeks Cupcake Craft Challenge is a baby card. So I combined the two with this card.

The image is one of the new TAC stamps coming out soon (T3257 Bountiful Bears). The set is another adorable one. There are 4 different bears in this set as well as a few extra pieces. There is also a really nice sentiment set to go with the bear set. The PPs are all from TAC, and I used various colors of pink CS too. That is all for now. Thanks for stopping by!

Sunflower Birthday SSS37

Happy Sunday to you all! Hope everyone enjoyed the holiday season, and breaks from school or work. My 2 older daughters go back to school tomorrow. They are excited and not excited, me...well I have mixed feelings too.
Well today I finally started getting my creative bug back. Apparently it ran away from my house for a week or so, but it is slowly coming back. I just haven't had much inspiration lately. I did get very excited when I saw this weeks Sweet Stop Sketch. As soon as I saw this sketch I knew what I wanted to use with it.
This image is from one of the new TAC sets. (T3254 Wonder and Joy) I just thought it was ADORABLE! I colored her in with marker...and tried to use colors I don't usually use. I used PP from TAC's Whimsy Blossoms paper set. I layered the pp & image onto some yellow CS. I added the sentiment from the TAC Ordinary Greetings set. I added some gems and stickles to the image as well as the base. I tried to find a blossom to match the color of the flowers on the PP, and added a bronze brad to the center.
I really enjoyed this sketch...it looked "complicated" at first, but was really easy to put together once I got going.
Thanks for stopping by.

Another Birthday MOJO119

Happy 2010!!! I hope everyone had a great New Years Eve. We had celebrated with another family here at our house. We had make your own pizzas and lots of things dipped into the chocolate fountain. We had an early countdown...since our children are all under the age of 8. It was a great time, and the kids all had a blast bringing in the New Year together. Now is time for resolutions and fresh starts. I have probably already made too many resolutions....haha, but I chose something from different "categories" of my life. My stamping goal for 2010 is to be published. So...we will see...if I don't make it this year, at least I will have tried and improved my skills...hopefully...lol.
Today I wanted to show you a card I made using this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch. We have another birthday in our house this month. My middle daughter turns 5. I made this card to use for her birthday.
She is all about frilly and pink. She LOVES the character Fancy Nancy too. She actually looks just like Fancy Nancy! This image is a High Hopes image I stamped off while at a friend's house. I colored it in with watercolor crayons, and added some pink fun flock to the boa. I used pink liquid pearl for the beaded necklace, and added a giant pink flower to the hat. The PP is from TAC More Mimi.
I wish you all a very happy New Year, and best wishes for all your resolutions. Happy Stamping!
