99% Done! WooHoo!!!

So am I the only one who has the best ideas pop into my head while I am laying in bed? I have been trying to decide what to do with the center of my advent calendar. Last weekend I shared the start of my progress HERE and HERE. I was laying in bed the other night, and it came to me...a fireplace! So I looked through my Cricut cartridges, and sure enough I had one. My next step was to find either wood grain or brick PP, or an embossing folder that would give either of those effects. I ended up finding some PP at my LCS the yesterday that was perfect. So this afternoon, I got to work. Here is my fireplace...And here is the ALMOST finished product...
I just LOVE it! I used a box I had saved (thinking I might alter it) to attach the fireplace to. That way I had a "mantel" to put the picture frames on. Yes I am short a picture frame (hence the 99% done)...they only had 2 left, BUT I got a rain check so I get the sale price for it when it does come back in. The frames are 2" x 3", and perfect to swap out school photos each holiday season. I added the little stockings with liquid applique, and each of my girls' initials. My 5 year old suggested I add some "sparks" to my fire, so I give her credit for the idea of the red stickles on the fire. I am so pleased with the way this turned out, and can't wait to fill each little drawer with a treat for my girls.

Great job, Jess! Turned out really cute. Yeah I get those ideas at odd times too. Just never know when something will strike you. Glad you had this idea, it is adorable!
