Happy Saturday!

Today has been another great day. It started with a lovely Girl Scout Mother/Daughter Tea Party with my oldest. It was sooo cute...they even had a photographer taking photos of the girls with their moms. I had him snap one with my camera too. They had a nice lunch for us (although it wasn't the most kid friendly), a craft for the kids, and a few give-a-ways. It was a nice mommy/daughter time with my oldest. Here we are...

Then I returned home to find these!

My new stamps from QKR have arrived! They are awesome. The whole team is very excited and can't wait to play with our new stamps. We are also planning a blog hop for the beginning of April...so check back for more details on that one. I also added some links to the side of my blog with my fellow DT members, and the QKR Stampede site so you can get some of these great stamps for yourself too! I am off to go frost a cake, and clean for my DD's 3rd birthday tomorrow. Have a great rest of your weekend.

Some AM Brew

Happy Friday! I made this card a couple weeks ago and never posted it, so I thought it would be nice to share today. This is an image from Repeat Impressions, and is one of the quartet series. Sometimes it is nice to have one big stamp to go with. The 4 main images are all connected, but for this card I stamped and cut them apart. I also made 2 of the mug alone, and moved the sentiment from it's original spot.

I also went with only 2 colors for this one. I thought this was the perfect brown...color of a brown paper bag...just like I like my coffee =). The PP is from Papertrey, and the ink is SU.

Now...onto the fun news! I have certainly having a lucky week. Last night I was in the parking lot waiting for the stamp club I just discovered to start (The new church we are going to has a stamp club! I joked with my hubby it was another sign from GOD we made the right choice picking this school/church combo), well they had a sounder on the radio to call and win thingy. I called, and WON! I am sooooo excited I won tickets to go to Brad Paisley!!!!!! The nice thing is the concert is in June, and our anniversary is in June, so we are going to use the tickets as part of our anniversary celebration. I haven't been to a concert in 10 years...so this will be fun.

Well, back to my morning coffee, and off to one of my MOMS groups today...it looks like a good topic, and I hear the speaker is wonderful.

Easter Projects

Well, the other day I had a slight panic attack as I realized I have to get all the Easter stuff for school and dance done before Monday. Knowing we have a bit of a crazy weekend, since it is my baby's 3rd birthday, I needed to get to work. As I mentioned before, I am making 10 little baskets for my oldest Daughter's class. So...I finished assembling them yesterday, and filled them today. Here is how they turned out. Oh, and check HERE for the directions if you missed the previous post.

I filled them with a little Easter grass (which I absolutely HATE that stuff) and a Cadbury cream egg (because it isn't Easter without them!). I purchased 3 different sheets of PP from my LSS all in Eastery prints for these. The nice thing is they are 2-sided, so I got more variety of designs as a result.
Our next project today was to dip 50+ Peeps into chocolate and sprinkles. This is kinda my staple treat for dance class parties and school parties (with bigger classes). They are very simple, and don't take that much time to make. Here is my little helper and our finished product.
We made a little assembly line, and got to work...of course my little one felt she could help by eating the Peeps as we went...lol. In the end, we got them all covered, and I will bag them each into little snack size Ziploc baggies.
Well that is all for now. I am working on a card right now, but had to take a break to get this done. Have a great day!

AWESOME NEWS!!!

Well I can finally tell you my good news. I have been asked to be on a Design Team!!!!!!! I am so thrilled to be on the first ever design team for a great new company called QKR Stampede. Check out the website...and believe me...you will be looking for a long time at all the stamps that they have. I will be posting at least weekly some eye candy using stamps from this company...starting April 1st.
So...I also have a card to show you today. I recently got a cricut, and have been playing around with it. I was blog hopping yesterday, and saw this weeks Cupcake Craft Challenge is to use food or drink on your card. So I found this cute cupcake on one of my cricut cartridges and thought I would give it a try.

I thought it came out cute for my first time using this. I cut out the pieces in white, and sponged them with green and purple. I also cut the shadow out for the background from purple CS. There is a little cherry on the cartridge also, so I cut that out and sponged it red. I layered it with foam tape. The base is blue CS, and I added the sentiment which is from a TAC set.

Well I realized last night that I only have a week left to get the little baskets done for my DD's class, so I will be working on them tonight. I will post a picture of all 10 of them after I have them done and filled. Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day.

Check this out...

I was looking at my blog dashboard (this list of updates from all the blogs I follow) and found this. CHECK IT OUT!!! Some awesome blog candy. CHRIS is celebrating her anniversary for her blog. She is giving away some awesome goodies, but not just to one person, but to 2!! So stop on over HERE and check it out.

Another Dino Card

WOW...what a week! You know that expression of an emotional roller coaster...well I went for quite a ride this week. On Tuesday evening we found out our children's school will be closed as of the end of this school year. I can't even begin to explain the feelings that go along with this. I have gotten myself so stressed and upset that I started getting migraines. Last night I went to bed early with a very nasty pounding in my head. The atmosphere at the school this week has been like a funeral. It is unbelievable to see these amazing teachers loosing their jobs, as well as all these kids loosing their school family. The good news is...we have found a new school for our girls for the fall. They are excited about the change, however saddened by the closing of the school that has been their 2nd home for the last 3 years. Then yesterday I received some totally awesome news...which I can't share just yet, but lets just say...it made me feel a bit better.
Well, enough of my problems, and on to the card...lol. As I posted previously...my youngest will be 3 this month. My mother needed a card to give her, so I decided to use this week's Creative Belli Blog challenge to help with this one. This weeks challenge was "Clips with a Sketch". The challenge is to use some sort of clip on your card, but using the sketch provided for your layout. Here is what I came up with.

Did you happen to notice my baby likes dinos....lol. First...yesterday I finally got my cricut machine! I recently got one from ebay, and the nice UPS man brought it yesterday! So, I needed to play with it. One of the cartridges that came with it had a paperclip, so I decided to cut out my own "clip" for the challenge. I also cut out the little tag with the #3. What a fun machine this cricut is...I can't wait to use it more...I am sure it is more fun to use when you don't' have a migraine...lol. Anyway, I stamped and colored the image with colored pencils. I cut it into and oval shape, and layered with the red ribbon, green CS, and the Dino PP. I used a sentiment from a SU set. I am sure my baby will love this...because she has already seen it, and was thrilled...lol.

Well that is it for today...thanks for stopping by and "listening" to my rant. I can't wait to spend my weekend with my cricut!

Shower Card

A friend of mine asked me to make a bridal shower card for her. I went to my LSS to get some Easter paper, and saw this paper and knew it was perfect for this card. Here is what I came up with.I used this pretty PP I purchased and cut into 2 1/4 x 2 1/4 squares. The card is a 5 x 5 base. I layered the PP squares onto the base. Then I cut 3 circles...one white, one yellow, one black. I stamped the flower image (from a SU set Delight in Life I think) on the white. I embossed it in black, and sponged around the image with 2 shades of yellow. I layered it onto the yellow circle, and then the black. I centered it on the base. Last I added some glitter to the flower petals, and yellow stickles to the flower center. I added some little black pearl embellishments to the corners of each square. I just hope she likes it now.
Thanks for stopping by.

A tisket, a tasket, an adorable little basket

I was blog hopping the other day and come across THIS tutorial for this little basket. I thought it was adorable! So I had a chance to try it. Here is how it came out. As you can see I only added one handle, and the tutorial shows 2. I also didn't add an image to it like in the tutorial. I thought it would be so cute to put together 10 of these for my oldest daughter's class. I think I am going to fill them with some of that dreadful Easter grass and a Cadbury Cream Egg. (YUM!) I just love the way it turned out, and really it was so simple to make. Be sure to check out the other eye candy on the Whimsie Doodles blog...where I got the directions from.

Welcome Baby

Back again...told you I have been working...lol. I need a baby card for an old friend of mine who just welcomed her first baby. I decided to use this weeks Sweet Stop Sketch for this one. I haven't had a chance to play along with these sketches every week, but they are great. Here is what I came up with.I used the ladybug momma and baby image...which is from High Hopes. I colored it in with watercolor crayons. It is hard to see, but I used darker pink and dark gray instead of red and black. I cut it out in an oval, and layered onto the various papers. I decided to use some floral PP for this to go along with this weeks Cupcake Craft Challenge...which is Flower Power. So...I used the floral paper behind the ladybug image, and added the the pink silk flower and flower brad.
That is it for now. Thanks for looking.

Playing with White Ink

Hello...sorry I have been MIA all week. I really have been stamping, however I have been making cards to submit to magazines, and didn't want to post them yet. I did take a trip to a LCS yesterday and decided I would like to try white ink. I recently saw some neat projects done with white ink pads, and wanted to give it a try. I purchased two different kinds of white ink, and wanted to see how they differed, and just plain experiment. So...here are my experiments. Please forgive the bad photos. The weather is yucky rainy here, and I struggled to get lighting for these. I used a dark kraft CS for this one. I used the set butterfly swirls from TAC for this one. I stamped some flourishes in the background. Then I stamped a butterfly on aqua CS, cut it out, and layered it with foam tape. I added some aqua ribbon and a sentiment from the TAC set savvy sayings.

My second white ink experiment! I again used a darker color kraft CS. I used stamps from the TAC set springtime garden. I thought this set was very cute. It comes with this little butterfly and bunny with sign you see above, as well as some other birds and bunnies stamps. I added the sentiment "Think Spring!" to the sign with a white gel pen. Last I added some lavender ribbon and bow.

I like the white ink a lot. I think it has a neat look to it. I also purchased some black CS yesterday, so I will do some playing with white ink and black CS next. Thanks for stopping by.

Some of my weekend projects...

So my mother called and asked me to make a few cards for her. I had to laugh that when I am in a creativity slump, is when someone NEEDS cards. Well, over the past two days I got almost all of the cards I needed made. So I thought I would do a quick post to show you what I came up with.
My mom needed a new baby card, so I made this one.
The stamp is TAC, the PP is from a stack I picked up awhile back at a LCS.
Mom also needed 3 sympathy cards. So I made one, and really liked the way it turned out. I decided to make them all the same idea.
I went with black and white with one color. The flowers are put on with dimensionals, and I curled the petals a little. I used liquid pearl for the centers. Oh, and the stamps are from SU.
Well that is all for today. Have a great rest of your weekend.

My Girls' Creations

So I was surfing some blogs the other day and stumbled upon THIS one. This blog, Little hands do Crafts, was created by a set of siblings, and is a challenge blog for kids to post their work. How fun is that!!! Well, I decided to let my girls play along. They love watching me stamp, and touching EVERYTHING in my stamproom, so I thought this was perfect for them. Once a month they post a new challenge for the kids. This month it is Fantasy themed cards. So...here are the cards my girls made. This card was made by my daughter Morgan...she is 7. She used a princess stamp from a TAC set.

This card was made by my daughter Natalie...age 5. She also used a stamp from the same TAC set.

They got the biggest kick out of making cards with mom, and love the idea of taking part in a challenge blog for kids!

A dino birthday.

Hard to believe, but my youngest will be 3 at the end of the month! I miss the baby stage...well...a little. I do enjoy the fact that there are no more diapers, and everyone sleeps all night long. Well, she is just in love with dinosaurs, her little family party is all dinosaur themed. So I thought it would be cute to make her a dinosaur card to go with it. I just ordered these adorable new images from the Greeting Farm on Monday, and already got them in the mail today! Talk about great service! Anyway, I just loved these images, however I really wanted to use the dinos that are with the little boy stamp, so with some cutting and pasting here is what I ended up with. I stamped the boy body and cut it out. Then I stamed the girl head and cut that out. I simply put the girl head on the boy body and tada...a girl with dinosaurs! The background paper I picked up at my LCS a few weeks back. The "happy day" sentiment came with the same stamp set...actually that is the name of the set.

This is what the girl looks like with the girl body...lol. I colored her and cut her out to use on a future card.
Here is a photo of the complete stamp set.
The images on the paper are smaller then the acutal images. Aren't they adorable????!!!! I have to say these stamps are great quality too. Nice thick rubber, and they are cling mounted.

Just a quick card

I actually made this card yesterday, but didn't get it posted. So I thought I would share it with you today. The image is from the TAC set fairytale fun. The sentiment is from the TAC set dream come true. Both sets are available in the current issue of Serendipity. I stamped the princess and colored her with colored pencils. I added some stickles to the wand and crown. I cut her out and layered her onto the rainbow CS. I added some stars and embossed them in gold. Super easy, yet looks cute.

Thanks for stopping by.

A Sweet Spring Sketch

Happy Wednesday to you all! Thanks for stopping by today. Today I would like to share a card I made for two different challenges. First, I used the sketch from this weeks Sweet Stop Blog. Then I added some eyelets...which is the challenge this week over at the Creative Belli Blog. So...I put the two together, and here is what I came up with....
I started with a white CS base, and layered on some PP from the Twitter Pad collection from Imainisce. I used some pinkish/maroonish CS from TAC for the circle. I used the flip side of the Twitter pad paper for the rectangle under the fox, and the fox is from the Twitter Pad collection also. I stamped him with brown ink, and colored him in using aqua painters and ink pads. I also added some fun flock to his tail and paws. Last, I added some twill ribbon, and some eyelets.

Well that is it for today. Don't forget to stop by the Sweet Stop Blog to check out the DT's cards using this sketch, as well as the DT's work with Eyelets over at the Creative Belli Blog!

Heavy load got you down?

UGGGGG STRESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been really stressed out lately...so many big decisions to make, and praying we are making the right ones has really gotten me down. Sleep...who needs sleep...lol...I certainly haven't gotten much of that either. Well enough about my "issues", and onto the challenges. I made this card for 3 different challenges. First, I purchased this stamp the other day at my LSS...I just LOVE it. I thought it was very fitting for any mom/wife/women. So, here is the card, and below is the list of all the challenges I made this for.
Isn't she just sooooo cute???!!!! This image is from The Greeting Farm, and is called HG Laundry. I started by using the MOJO Monday Sketch this week, which can be found HERE. Next I combined two very similar challenges which both involved circles. First the Cupcake Craft Challenge this week was "Round & Round", which means circles...as many as possible to me! Second, Club Anya and Friends blog is celebrating the new release of some new Greeting Farm stamps with a challenge. This challenge was called "Seeing Spots"...which also means CIRCLES! I was so excited to be able to combine 3 challenges in one card...this is not something I do often...lol. Well, I used some background PP from TAC that is all different color circles. I then cut the image out in a circle, and colored it in with colored pencils. I added some circles/spots using the cuttlebug to the green and yellow strips of CS. I added some round yellow buttons to the corner. Last, I cut out one of the big circles from the PP, and layered a smaller circle on top, and hand wrote the sentiment. I thought this would be a really cute card to send to a fellow mom who is having a bad week. Since we all have them. Well that is all for now. Thanks for stopping by.
